Mouse & The Mask

The Best Thing That Happened to MF Doom
Genius rapper MF Doom and Superstar producer Danger Mouse is a deadly combo. MF doom has been ok on the albums of his I've listened to, but Danger Mouse has constantly delivered 5 star material. Arguably, Mouse was the driving force behind Gorillaz's Demon Days success. This time around he is more than 3/4ths the talent on "The Mouse and the Mask." While MF Doom is an entertaining rapper with a unique taste, Danger Mouse made this album unforgettable and I miss the collaboration.Best Tracks: "Sofa King", "Benzi Box"(w Cee-Lo), "A.T.H.F.", "No Names(Black Debbie)", "Crosshairs", "Mince Meat", "Vats of Urine", and "Bada Bing."Keep in mind this is a concept album, like MMM..Food. The concept is taken from Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and a lot of material will pass right over your head if you are unfamiliar with the network. I'm a big fan of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, so the album came to me easier. If you are like me, with only knowledge of that specific show within Adult Swim's catalog, then you will catch the beats just fine. You might even still thoroughly enjoy the album without that connection. To conclude, producers need to listen to Danger Mouse. This album displays some of his best work. We need more clashes of rap and classical music. This album became my soundtrack for a few months for that specific sound. The most important thing you need to know is this: If your appeal for the album is the fantastic beats, then check out more work from Danger Mouse (Demon Days, Gnarls Barkley) If you bob your head and repeat MF Doom's intricate verses, then check out his solo work (MM...Food, Born Like This). I connect more with the flawless production, but I've picked up a couple MF Doom albums and been satisfied.

Jump 'em in like jump rope- double dutch.
A classic album that was long overdue for a repress. Unfortunately not a gatefold, but instead two separate sleeves that can be swapped in four ways to make a different color of the image displayed in the Amazon picture. The black in the picture always remains the same, as it's printed on the clear outer sleeve, which seems to be pretty durable. In my opinion Lex Records did an absolute fantastic job with the care and design with this new art; it makes a great (changeable!) homage to the original art. The records are extremely clean and sound great, but they are a bit thin, which will mean disappointment for some. All in all, I'm extremely happy with this pressing and the service this time around from Amazon. The album arrived nearly 10 days ahead of schedule.Highly recommended.

Doom and Mouse knock it out the park
Danger Doom is an interesting album, it teams two of the most talented guys in hip-hop with the voices and characters of Adult Swim's cartoon lineup. Danger Mouse has an amazing arrangement of beats and Doom's lyrics are genius. However most of them feature characters from Adult Swim shows. The tone of the album matches well with the wacky cameos and Doom is the only MC who could have delivered so well considering the content. Song's like Mince Meat, Cross Hairs and No Names are some personal favorites but if you are a fan of adult swim, Danger Mouse or DOOM than you will love this record.

Cover Ripped
The package arrived with the outer sleeve cover ripped on top and bottom. Would have given 5 stars for this excellent album.****Update****I was able to return and get another record. The new one is better but has a little tear. I’ll just keep this one as it seems it’s the best I can get at the moment.
