Cleans and Soothes Oily Scalp and Well Priced
Addendum: After using this shampoo for 7 months, it is now my primary choice. It leaves my hair perfectly clean and I can easily go two days without washing.Original Review: My hair is straight, fine, and not too thick. My scalp is oily, itchy and damaged from years in the sun.For the past two decades the shampoo that worked best for me has been Redken Solve Purifying Shampoo, 8.5 oz $33 on Ebay. I believe it was the clay-based formula that made it superior to other products. Redken discontinued it about the same time I started using it but, up to this year, I was still able to buy it for a reasonable price on ebay. When the price tripled, I was forced to find a replacement.Of the many products I have tried, here are the three top contenders:* Rene Furterer Curbicia Purifying Clay, 5 oz $34* Redken Oil Detox Shampoo (AKA Hair Cleansing Cream), 8.5 oz $25* Live Clean Mineral Clay Rebalancing Shampoo, 12 oz $5.49I have tried all of the Rene Furterer shampoos, but Curbicia (also clay-based) is the only one strong enough for my oily scalp. It works as well as Redken Solve for giving me perfect hair on the first day and decent hair on days two and three. But it is expensive, even when I could get it on sale from England.I've only used the Redken Oil Detox shampoo twice but both times it cleaned well, left my hair very soft, and kept it looking good for two days. I would probably select it as my replacement if not for the price and I haven't found it cheaper anywhere else.Which leads us to the inexpensive but well formulated Live Clean Mineral Clay Rebalancing Shampoo. My hair looks good on the first day (not as soft as the more expensive products) and my scalp and hair seems fine on the second day. The triple clay combination should work well to both remove oils and decrease itching. Complaints from other reviewers were that they didn't like the smell (I do like it) and it was too drying.Top Ingredients for All Four ShampoosRene Furterer Curbicia Purifying Clay 5 oz $34Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycol Palmitate, Cocamide Mipa, Cetearyl Alcohol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Coco-glucoside, Hectorite, Citric Acid, Bht , Camphor, Chromium Oxide Greens , Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) ...Redken Oil Detox Shampoo (AKA Hair Cleansing Cream) 8.5 oz $25Aqua/Water/Eau, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Glucoside, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Citric Acid, Ppg-5-Ceteth-20, Parfum/Fragrance, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Limonene, Disodium EDTA, Salicylic Acid, Coco-Betaine, Sugarcane Extract ...Live Clean Mineral Clay Rebalancing Shampoo 12 oz $5.49Water (Aqua), Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl 2-Sulfolaurate, Sodium Chloride, Kaolin+, Bentonite+, Montmorillonite+, Vinegar/Acetum*, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract*...Redken Solve Purifying Shampoo 8.5 oz $33 on EbayWater, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Disodium Cocoamphoacetate, Kaolin, Montmorillonite, Sodium Chloride, Dimethicone, Fragrence, Citrus Acid, Salicylic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Methylparaben, Propylene Glycol, Taurine, Limonene ...

Lots of lather
Great shampoo for wavy hair. It moisturizes and lathers up very well with a pleasant scent. I have bought it several times.

fresh scent was too much
Just a teaspoonful of this foamed nicely. Felt great. Unfortunately, the smell was overpowering. I had to send it back. If they made scent-free, I'd buy that.

Product arrived broken
Like the product, do not like the shipping method. Often product arrives with top of either shampoo or conditioner busted and contents leaking into package.

Hair not oily, but. . .
My roots aren't oily after using this shampoo, but the rest of my hair is drier than with the Elvive clay rebalancing shampoo. The only reason I bought this brand is because the other brand has been out of stock for awhile. When that one is back in stock, I'm going back to it.

Great Shampoo
This is my favorite shampoo. It smells good and leaves my hair looking and feeling amazing. I went out of my way to find it on Amazon because they don’t seem to carry it at my local Sprouts anymore. Bottle came quick and undamaged.

Smells weird, is watery, doesn't really help keep hair from being oily
This review is for the Live Clean Shampoo with mineral clay for oily hair.It didn't work as good as I hoped. I definitely like the Elvive Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Shampoo MUCH better, but since it's so hard to find and the price has tripled, I was forced to go in search of something else to hopefully alleviate my oily hair woes. Alas, this was very disappointing! The smell is somewhat medicinal but also very off-putting because it smells like some musty wood of some type, some kind of wood I've smelled before but can't quite put my finger on what type of wood. It's strong and very unpleasant. Also, the shampoo is watery and doesn't lather up as good as the Elvive Rebalancing Shampoo, which btw, smells fantastic! It doesn't really do the job with the oily part, either. After using this, my hair is limp, lifeless, smells like chemicals and musty wood and in need of washing more often. I would not recommend this particular type (with mineral clay), but can't say anything about the brand (Live Clean) as a whole.I will not be buying this product again.

Itching is pretty much handled - a relief
Polycythemia vera sufferers should try this, best I've found to quell itching - the itch whisperer has spoken.
