Cars do not stay on track....awful
No matter what, the cars fly off the track. Gigantic disappointment. The cars need stronger magnets or more weight. Seemed like a great Christmas present...but didn't work out at all like expected.

Good price ..... For 8+ years old. Read my pointers
A long time ago when I was a kid I had a similar style track by AFX. It was super exciting. Back then, it took 45 mins to put together. I probably set it up and played it 5-10 times over 2 years.Below are a few pointers and why I rated this a 3 out of 5.1) The track design beats a figure 8 or simple oval, hands down. It is way more exciting. Kids like loop-d-loops, multiple levels and alot of track.2) This track will take over 45 mins to put together.3) If your kid is 8+, have him/her do most of the work assembling it. Even if you're a single mom, be there to help, but let them figure it out. Its pretty fun for them. My kid took over 90 mins to assemble. It was cool watching him focus on the task.Overall, this is for a kid 8+. If the kid is under 8, you will be the one putting it together, so expect 1 hour of your life in assembling it and another 1-2 adjusting & fixing it. If the kid is 8+, you just need to be there when they don't understand a part or they need extra force.4) The plastic connectors between tracks can break if you step on them or apply alot of force. One broken connector may ruin the entire experience. YOU NEED TO MAKE THAT REALLY CLEAR TO YOUR KIDS. They will pay more attention to it and care how they treat the tracks.Almost all race tracks have similar connectors, so you probably can't get away from this design flaw. Because there are so many track pieces, the chances of breaking are higher. We haven't broken any yet.5) Its really hard to keep the car on the track when it goes up the wall on the curve. Either we went too fast or too slow. In each case the car went off the track. There is a sweet spot; we just haven't fount it.4) IMPORTANT:... DO NOT...DO NOT... DO NOT THROW OUT THE BOX. The picture of the track on that box you will absolutely need when assembling. The instructions are OK; Its a very simple 2D black and white drawing.I had the same experience years ago with the old AFX, having the picture from the box made a world of difference when assembling. If your kid is doing the assembling, they need to refer to it for sure. You will want to pack it up and re-assemble for future play. KEEP THE BOX.5) Once finished, we constantly had to adjust the tracks to keep them connected. It was rare to have the car make an entire revolution around the track without stopping. Often, a track had a small spacing with no electrical connectivity. The car would stop there and a fix needed to be made. The kids got REAL frustrated. A better solution from the manufacturers are needed. Nothing has changed in over half a century here. Whomever fixes that problem will dominate the race track market overnight.6) The cars work well and are simple machines. If you have a 3D printer, some plastic gears, wheels and a motor, you can print one up as well.7) Its a race track with 2 cars for a reason. Its not "set and forget" if the kid is playing it alone. The experience is NO FUN playing alone. He/She needs a sibling, friend or YOU playing with them. After the amount of time invested in assembling, it should work flawlessly...and it doesn't. It needs alot of tweaking, and that caused frustration due to the time invested. So I rate it a 3 out of 5.

Not worth the cost.
One car barely works. Track took hours to put together and cars still mostly flew off the track-- I understand this is part of the fun but not even adults could get a car around one lap. One car kept stalling due to make pieces being bent and not properly aligning on track/coming into contact. Would NOT purchase again. Get a smaller cheaper track.

Junk
Complete crap. Even if the cars don't completely fly off the track, they lose contact with the rails and stop moving. Nothing like the old school racetracks.

I wouldn’t buy again
U have to use the picture on the box for reference since there’s no directions. There’s a piece of paper that has the weird directions written on it, but it definitely does not tell you how to assemble. Also, I don’t think a car has made it a full lap yet before flying off the track. I wouldn’t buy it again.
