I was very happy with the way these fit
I bought this tie bar set before my friend's wedding to fit the skinny ties I prefer to wear (~2" wide). I am very particular about people wearing the right size tie bar and needed to make sure that I bought a set that fit appropriately. I was very happy with the way these fit. Funny enough, my father and younger brother borrowed the other two tie bars in the set so I made great use out of it right away! These clips arrived very tight and sturdy and I definitely needed to loosen them up a little in order to fit around my shirt and tie. I appreciated this because any slide clip that doesn't stay tight and sturdy will become loose and therefore useless over time. I don't wear ties to work so I haven't used any of these more than a dozen times, but they are holding up fantastically.

Best price for 3 tie clips
For the price I don't think you'll find anything comparable, especially for getting a set of three.Very shiny and sturdy, they actually fit so well I had to bend them out a bit since they were a bit too tight. I primarily use the silver but have worn the gold a time or two. Haven't worn the black yet since I don't have many outfits that would need necessitate a dark tie clip. These work perfect with the modern slim and skinny ties. I pair them with my J. Crew 2" slim ties and it works well.

Great tie clips
Great tie clips! If you have a skinny tie (2") you'll need something shorter. These are perfect for ties that have a width 2.5-3". I took these measurements at the widest part of the tie (at the bottom). You want the tie clip to be 1/2 - 3/4 of the width of where you place the tie clip. You usually clip it around nipple-level (don't laugh!), so you want it to be 1/2 - 3/4 of that width, not the bottom width of your tie.

The Skinny on These Tie Bar Clips
Here is the skinny on these tie bar clips. :)First, they are nice looking. They are the right size for your average skinny tie, fitting around 3/4 the width of a 2.5 or 3 inch tie. They fit snug, which is what you want in a tie bar clip. There are two types of tie bars... one that is a clamp type of mechanism, with teeth on the bottom to fasten the tie. The second type is this type... which is more a clip, with no teeth... sliding it onto the tie instead of clamping it with teeth. These tie clips hold on extremely tight, which is great. BUT, if you like your ties, then I would suggest being very careful with the adjustments of this tie bar clip. Because it is so tight, when moving the tie clip up and down to fit the right height on your tie, the tightness of these tie bar clips can easily fray your tie as you adjust it up or down. Repeatedly doing this to your ties will show wear on your tie and ultimately ruin them. So, yes these skinny tie bar clips do hold on extremely tight, but at a cost. You can always stretch out the tie bar clip so that it is not so tight, but in the end, the sliding mechanics of this design (sliding motion up and down your tie) will result in the fraying of your ties... hence the three stars. So just take this into serious consideration before purchasing.*side note, yes the box is nice and fancy... but don't rate these tie clips based on the design of the box. You aren't wearing the box on your shirt. It's the tie clips (the product itself) we are reviewing.I wish they sold this tie bar clip with the teeth mechanism, since there is no need to slide the clip up and down.

Perfect assortment of clips for the modern man
I ordered these for my wedding, just so I could have the gold clip that matches my cuff links. They are great clips and wonderful quality for the price. They all came nicely packaged and ready to adorn your tie.Note that these clips are for ties that are medium in width....not your average full width tie and not for your super skinny tie. My tie is about 1 and 3/4 inch wide which was a perfect fit, leaving just a small gap of tie after the clip end.

If I could I would return these. They'll scratch my ties.
If I could I would return these. The surface of my tie bars have nicks that catch the fabric of my shirt/ties. I can't say i'm happy with them although if they didn't have this they would be a 5 star product. I can hear them scrap against the material and without some kind of remedy these will eventually damage my ties. Returns are trouble so i might just try to grind them down or something. They look pretty good although if my problem is evidence of quality control issues there could always be scratches and bad surfacing on the fronts of other tie bars.

Great inexpensive tie clips
These tie clips are great. They are good quality, come in a nice box, and are very stylish (nice and narrow for modern skinny ties, and have a brushed finish which I like compared the more common polished/chrome look). Out of the box, they are very tight and difficult to get on and off your tie, but I shoved a few collar stays in between parts of the clip and left them for a few days to stretch them out a bit. Now they are perfect. Highly recommended.
