Looks like it was scraped with sandpaper. Annoying to use.
I was hesitant to buy something this expensive when obviously the plastic alternatives are much cheaper, but I really wanted to avoid plastic, and I thought it looked nice... But it's garbage-quality. First thing that I noticed is that there are big gaps in where they applied the laquer/shiny finish. It's like some idiot literally was holding it in their hands while brushing the shiny finish on and just didn't bother to apply the finish to the spots where their fingers were. Both of them are like this on both ends (the narrow sides). Or it looks like someone scratched the shiny part off the ends with sandpaper. Looks like crap. Also, the soap bar sticks to the (cheap, flimsy) wood part and it's really hard to pry the wood away from the soap. So the wood just comes up with the soap when you try to lift the soap.

Laterals unfinished
I do not know if it is a defect or they all come with unfinished sides.

Mold after 6 weeks of use even though I cleaned it!!!
I loved the look of it but even though I cleaned it it already has mold on it!!! I bought it on 05/26 (so around 6 weeks ago) and look how fuzzy the mold is!Super disappointed and disgusted! Would not recommend to buyNever write reviews but this is so disgusting not to share!

exactly what I needed
One of my Christmas gifts was a bar of artisan soap but I had no place to put it so I searched up soap dishes and found this. I'm quite happy with it -- it is very basic but well made. The bamboo grid is sturdy and the dish, made of rigid plastic, is nice also. The bamboo fits nicely in the dish. I highly recommend.

Glad they’re compostable, but messy as heck.
Like that they indicate that they’re compostable, but they feel like the real genuine plastic article, so not sure i trust that since theres no credible 3rd party verification. They’re decent for the money, but come wrapped in plastic and the slats stick to the soap so you need to pry them off most of the time. And they get goopy and are messy to clean. Wouldn’t buy them again.

I recommend this useful soap dish
This device is simply made... just perfectly carved wood that fits inside a plastic container, but it's the best I've had in keeping the soap from melting because of collecting water as in order soap dishes. I've invested in more expensive soap dishes but this simple made soap dish works great for me

Pretty & practical! Didn't break when dropped!
These soap dishes are not only pretty, but they are also easy to clean and compliment any solid soap you use them for. I would buy these again, maybe with pretty soaps as a gift.

Thought it would be different
Got this for my Sasquatch soap. Thought it was one case that closed. Turns out it's two trays. Don't get me wrong....they are very nice but I needed a large case for travel. If you are looking for a great quality tray...this is it.
