I use this in my sewing room on the edge of the table. Really useful for my pocket sized travel iron

This little item is such a good idea, especially when we have lots of fabrics & sewing machine & cutting mat on the table, stops burning holes in things that don't need holes, a must have if you use the little irons.

I am wanting to do more sewing in my craft room and as everybody makes such a thing about needing to iron seams, hems etc before going on to the next part. Especially so with patchwork or quilting, I need to be able to have a small iron close by. I don't have enough room available for a full size iron, especially not an ironing board. Silicone is a great way to protect against heat damage I've got various other silicone items at home that all work perfectly well so can not see any reason why this won't work. Haven't done any sewing since purchase but the feel of it is reasurring, suitably thick and have no doubt it will stop me burning my desk with the iron.
