With Passion

Do you remember buying an album because you just loved one cut, only to find that one cut, was the only one cut that was any good? This is not the case with Maria Joao Pires's performance on this double CD - With Passion. I was a victim of the "one-good-song-syndrome", suffered mightily for it, and have since been a little more restrained when tempted to buy music just because I'm just SURE this is going to be one big TREAT! I was not a victim here. She is well-respected, admired for her talent and abilities, won by years of dedication and non-tiring love for music. The clarity and precision of her technique is wonderful to listen to, she makes me very happy and I am grateful to have found her.

This was the first CD of Maria-João Pires that I bought. I fell in love with her musicthen I started buying all her CD's. I find that she is especially masterful with Mozart, and Schubert.Let's not forget her Chopin Nocturnes, a must too.  Chopin: Nocturnes .The CD stars with the beautiful Mozart Sonata No.12, then Schubert's Klavierstücke which she is plays superb.Last on the first CD is Chopin' Nocturnes 7&8, 15&16 which she is masterful.Second CD starts with Mozart's Concerto No.23, and finally Schumann's famous Concerto in A.She is great with Mozart again, and I love her Schumann although my favorite with that concertois Sviatoslav Richter.
