great story * must read for AC fans
We’ve watched the movies- the Poirot Mysteries, and reading the book is yet another whole version. Such a great story.

Good looking book
The cover has a nice vintage look (which is why I bought it) and te sides of the paper are painted in a copper colour which is a nice touch. The print looks a bit odd to me, though (the sentences are quite widely spaced). All in all, I'm happy with it.

As always, book is the best!
I have just finished this book for at least the third time, having recently watched the latest movie version for a second time. I have lost count of how many times I’ve enjoyed the Albert Finney film. Both are fairly faithful while adding the necessary elements that make movies work. But for me, the book is always the best! I am up to the 1950’s with reading all of Dame Agatha’s books, but had to return to this jewel in the set. She’s truly one of the Queens of the genre!!

it’s a classic
we had to order this for seventh grade, it’s a book, not my taste, but if you like books, it’s a good one (I’d rather watch the movie!)

Another thriller!
I have been reading a number of Agatha Christie’s novels and this was another very exciting one. I liked the plot twist — that the train was a jury of 12 to punish the victim for a crime he should have been found guilty of in a court of law (but which he escaped on technicalities).I also liked the humanity of this one. The presentation of the two theories and why ultimately the first was preferred so as to protect all those involved in the murder. The threads were a bit hard to follow because there were many different “clues”, but the overall story came together very well. We never did find out in the end who stabbed the victim but ultimately that didn’t matter.Linda Arden tried to take responsibility as the master mind but in the end, she was protected on a theory of just desserts — Ratchett or Cassetti (being his real identity) finally got what he deserved.

Great classic
I love reading classic thrillers. They are less exciting than modern ones and can be a bit long in the tooth but without them we may not have the amazing books we have now. This one is a well known mystery so it wasn’t shocking but had I never heard of it or seen the films I would have been extremely shocked.

Great explanations of charaters' motivations!
Lives up to all expectations. Much better than the movie because the characters' characters were explained. One of my favorite Hercule Poirot novels!
