Just an excellent fountain pen
To be short and sweet: this is just an excellent fountain pen, period. If you're just starting out with fountain pens, or if you want to get a travel pen, or a pen for that funky color that you don't use a lot, or to keep at the office. Look no further, this is the one for you.My main fountain pen started smelling mildewy, so I wanted to get a cheap pen to figure out if it was the pen or the ink. I had always been curious about these Lamy pens, and I was shocked to see there was one for just about $20, so I finally got one. Because I filled it with my favorite ink, I've been using it a lot over the past few weeks, and I have grown very fond of it. It has a pretty good size and it feels solid enough as a daily writer. I do prefer a heavier pen, and I would like it better if the barrel were round instead of the triangular profile. I had to adjust my writing angle to make that sit right in my hand. Not a big deal but ultimately I think the pen should not dictate how you hold it. I kind of like the pull-off cap, although I expect that to loosen up over timeMy expectation was that it would be a total dud, writing wise, not necessarily because I expected it to be a bad pen, but I expected it would just not hold up to a Meisterstuck or a Duofold. Of course the fine pens are built so much better, and they do feel a lot better, but I have to say as a daily writer, you can't go wrong with this one. It's very light, which I prefer a bit of weight, but it writes great! It is a good size, and the medium nib give you a solid flow. I've used it with the cartridge that came with it, and then with Diamana ink and both are just really nice to use.I never expected to like it this much, especially because I've tried a number of Parkers and Shaeffers in the $50-$75 range and was disappointed every time. The plan was to toss it when I figure out the ink situation. I'll still go back to my trusty old fancy pen for my daily writer, but this pen is a keeper!

Wonderful Pen!
This is a beautiful pen. It looks great, and the grip has indented sides that provide a comfortable place to rest your fingers. It writes very smoothly and is a pleasure to use. I got the blue-black refills (my favorite ink color) and that makes it just about perfect. Oh yes, it is very lightweight, too!

Beautiful, great product.
This is the second Lamy Safari I've owned. I lost the first one. If you want to take a step up from your typical ball-point pen, or even your above average ball-point pen, get a Lamy Safari. Specifically a demonstrator one. You've probably seen several clear plastic Bics in your lifetime, but this makes those look like children's toys.Whether you get a medium or fine nib is just a matter of personal preference. In my opinion, the medium gives you more freedom in thickness of lines. You can press lightly for a thin line, or draw really slowly and press harder for a thicker line. But if you usually like to write really small, you'd probably prefer a fine nib. I like both.It comes with blue ink. I hate blue ink, so I immediately threw that cartridge to the side and slid in a black cartridge, which I already had from my last one. Cartridges are cheap and easy to replace. And if you get the clear model, you can always see exactly how much ink you have in reserve. The pen is really durable. The clip holds firmly, so you can keep it in your pocket without worrying about it falling out. The plastic feels really strong. It could probably take a serious beating. If you've never tried a fountain pen before, go for it. It creates smooth lines without breaks and it seems like it adds character to your handwriting. It also gives you a false sense of superiority over your peers. And we all love to feel better than other people right?

Perfect
I got the Vista pen as a travel pen. I was going on several flights and didn't want to lose one of my vintage pens, but still wanted to draw with a fountain pen. At this price, I figured if I lost it I wouldn't care. Not only does the pen perform very well, but it has become one of my favorites (I lean toward Parkers and Scheaffers). The grip is very comfortable and helps determine the correct position with little effort. No leakage at any stage on the airplanes, even with the converter half-full. Ink flow was great and the pen seemed to run forever on one full converter. I used Birmingham Pens ink with it and the results were great. A great entry-level pen that holds its own with the more expensive models.

Amazing purchase!
I recently purchased the Lamy Safari Pen Vista with a medium tip, and it has quickly become my favorite writing instrument. The design of the pen is sleek and modern, with a transparent body that allows you to see the ink level and inner workings, which adds a unique and stylish touch. The medium tip is perfect for my writing style, offering a smooth and consistent flow of ink that glides effortlessly across the paper. It provides just the right amount of resistance, making writing feel both comfortable and precise. Whether I’m jotting down notes or writing longer documents, the pen performs flawlessly. One of the standout features is the ergonomic grip. The triangular shape is designed to fit naturally in the hand, reducing fatigue during extended writing sessions. This thoughtful design ensures that my hand remains comfortable, even after hours of use.The build quality is exceptional, as expected from Lamy. The materials used are durable, and the pen feels solid without being too heavy. The clip is strong and reliable, making it easy to carry the pen in a pocket or notebook.Refilling the pen is also a breeze, thanks to Lamy’s easy-to-use cartridge system. I appreciate the convenience of being able to quickly swap out ink cartridges, and the variety of available ink colors allows for some customization to match my personal preferences.Overall, the Lamy Safari Pen Vista with a medium tip is an outstanding writing tool. Its combination of sleek design, comfortable grip, and smooth writing experience makes it a pleasure to use daily. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, reliable pen that stands out from the crowd.
