Q: What is the size of the basket not including the handles? And are there holes in the bottom as well as the sides?

The basket is 8 1/2" deep & about 18" across at the top (below the handles). There are holes in the bottom and long slits on the sides. Hope this helps.

It's pink that I ended up with. It shows the mauve looking pink, in the picture. Mine is lighter pink its a great basket. No matter what color you end up with ours is used for carrying in veggies from the garden. When finish wash, rinse out the dirt from veggies. It's a sturdy plastic basket & love it!! Works well

Q: Is the small size too small for regular size tomatoes, how many would it hold?

I have the large size and it is perfect! Can put zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes and various other vegetables all in at once. I think for a few dollars more it would be wise to go with the large size, that way your tomatoes will have plenty of room. I love this item, I don't know how I did without it for so many years.

You get one. It is confusing, but they mean small OR mini as the size, I think
