Love These With The DIY Dome
So on their own, these trays are a great product. They are a good size, fit together well. The grid labels help me so I can keep track on a spreadsheet and not use tones of labels or use less labels and get a little confused. One complaint I had was, "where is the humidity dome?" Well after I got these home, I realized they don't have the option so after a lot of research I found another product here on Amazon. They aren't cheap but the "Plant Tray Clear Plastic Humidity Domes: Pack of 5 - Fits 10 Inch x 20 Inch Garden Germination Trays - Greenhouse Grow Covers" fit on top of two of these 16XL trays nicely. Not air tight but will do the job I need just fine. With 8 of these, I should have all the seedlings I can handle in my small urban garden next season. The plastic is much lighter than I like and would be willing to pay double for heavier duty but it's a great value at this price.

Reusable, functional, and overall pretty sturdy
I really am impressed with these Burpee trays. They are reusable, functional, and overall pretty sturdy. I think I will be able to use these many times throughout each growing season and expect that they will last years. One thing I really like is that it is very easy to push up on each cell and the plant/soil comes out intact. It also prevents a lot of root damage during the process. I was able to transplant my baby plants into larger jiffy cups and had 100% transplant success rate, which I attribute to this design. I have already purchased all three burpee tray sizes multiple times and will continue to do so. Reusable trays for the win!

My New Favorite Seed Starting Tray
The media could not be loaded. This Burpee SuperSeed tray has 16 extra-large flexible pop-out cells is designed to simplify indoor seed starting. The quality of this product is going to allow many years of use. Have you ever planted something and forgot to label it? The rows are labeled alphanumerically for seedling identification with included Plant-o-Gram diagram. I am excited to start using this seed starting tray for my spring garden. I purchased this particular seed starting tray because of the reviews, but also because of the value. There are other similar seed starting trays, but more expensive. I initially thought this seed starting tray was going to be cheap plastic, but so far I am impressed. It also comes with this tray where you can bottom water your seedlings. I am also using it as a dome to keep the soil moist and speed up the germination process. Burpee sells different sizes of these seed starting trays and I am sure I will be purchasing more of these in the future. I would recommend these.

Much better than the Peat pots I was using before.
I really like these trays. The bottom tray is clear so I can easily see when it's time to water. The silicone makes it very easy to remove my little plants as needed.I originally ordered 2 and one came cracked, so I'm returning that one, and meanwhile the replacement arrived and it is also cracked, but I think I can work with it.

My choice as an avid gardener
These are my go-to seed starting trays after having used many others over the years. I like the silicone pop-out feature, the manageable size, the sturdiness of the tray, and the overall “look” of the trays . Since I own several of each size (orange, green, turquoise), I like the versatility (2 orange 8-cell trays can fit in the black bottom of a 16 or 36.)I agree with others that a humidity dome would be nice, but I’d rather keep the price affordable. (A tip is to cut apart clear plastic bakery containers and use these as humidity domes. Another suggestion is to use a capillary mat inside the black tray. (Mine are from Gardeners' Supply, available on Amazon). I cut them to size and then make sure this mat is always moist. This allows plants to water from below. (I live in a hot, dry climate and find capillary mats essential to prevent drying out.)My latest tweak is to use bubble wrap (the kind with the mini-size bubbles), cut to size, to lay directly over the newly planted seeds. It works fantastic to hold in heat and moisture, yet allow light in, until the seeds come up. I've had flower seeds that are supposed to germinate in 21-30 days come up in 3-5 days--yes!-- using this method [Hydrofarm-brand heat mat, Burpee black tray, capillary mat, Burpee tray inserts, moistened quality seed starter mix, mini bubble wrap, plant-growing light close to the trays]). I switch to my no-cost bakery-tray covers to use as humidity domes once the seedlings are about to touch the bubble wrap.I find that the inserts last about two years under frequent use (I’m continually growing veggies or flowers as an all-year gardener, so I’m popping out seedlings more than the average gardener.) I now have several extra black trays which I continue to use to hold two 6-packs of transplants (Ex: as tomatoes and peppers get larger, I put them in reused bedding plant 6-pack trays and water from the bottom using my capillary mats). This allows me to use my Burpee trays for new seeds or for dividing seedlings. (I'm continually "rotating" my plants to accommodate the space needed.)
