Small but works well for the first 2 weeks.
It is great to get chicks started. First couple weeks. It is really easy to set up and keep the right temp right under the lamp. First 2 weeks are critical for chick survival and this little box helps a lot to keep them warm. This lamp also only eats about 60 watts so it is very efficient and safer to use than the other style heat lamp.It is a very small brooder. It will not fit 10+ chicks. I only had 3 in it and after 2 weeks they needed more space. Itll work, but might cause stress to the chicks. Commercial brooders are a lot worse.I use it to quarantine older chicks if needed.

Great for raising chicks (especially small ones)
This thing is amazing. We were having difficulty raising our button quail prior to this... having this brooder makes it so easy. We can put chicks in it as well, it's great to have the heat lamp built in and everything. I don't know that I'd put 10-15 full size chicks in it for very long, though for a week or so it would be good. We love it and it's the perfect size to raise our button quail chicks.

Don’t waste your money
Too small. I have four day old chicks. This brooder is way too small. So I’ve taken off the lid and the lamp and moved them onto the now modified lid of a Rubbermaid container to create a useful brooder. At least it’s not a total loss. I’ll use the brooder box to put the chicks in when I’m cleaning their new digs.

Convenient, but small and too hot
Issues I have-bottom is smooth, requiring you to lay down paper towels or a mat so birds don't injure their legs.Pretty small. It accommodates 5 birds, but it's not a lot of space.Heat lamp too intense for small brood box. When I set it to 95F, it was way too hot and all chickens were panting and lethargic. I have it down to 87F and could probably go lower-chicks are avoiding being directly under the light.Cylindrical feeder opening is too narrow. I had to keep unclogging it so chicks had access to food, but the other feeders provided work fine for food and water. I put marbles on the bottom of the water feeder so it was safe/not too deep for them.No clear method of addressing humidity.Things I like:Although I had to lay down paper towels to make the brood box safe, the smooth surface makes it easier to clean.I love the clear window and being able to watch them easily.Somewhat convenient for a small group of chicks. All told, this unit is less pricey than some units that have all the stuff included. But if I could do it over, I probably would've tried to DIY something or found a better unit even if it cost a little more.

There is no exact heat control!
This is a great box, but I cannot get it to keep a constant set temperature and it’s aggravating. It’s easy to put together, and easy to clean. If anyone is having issues with the light, use the two extra bolts that come with nuts to secure the light instead of the tiny screws, because I didn’t trust those screws, especially after seeing some reviews of the light falling. One bolt for each side, and it holds great. I wish there was an exact temp you could set it to, though. That is rough. The temp was fine up until I went to check the chicks an hour later and they were overheating, and the dial wasn’t even all the way up!Side note, my incubator gave out; so as a last ditch effort, I used this over the weekend to keep my eggs warm, and the eggs are still going strong! Replacement incubator came, but I’m thrilled to know it can be used for a back up (at least for a short time).

A little higher price for the amount of time you can use it.
Worked for a little while for the chicks that we hatched out in our classroom. Pretty small so we weren’t about to use it for long. On food dish did arrive broken.

Really small and hard to regulate temp
This thing is small, really small. We had six eggs set but only three chicks hatch and thankfully just the three, by day 4 I moved them out because there just wasn’t enough room for them. One of them is even a small silkie chick. The temperature regulation has also been a major struggle. The thermometer on the front is hard to read and inaccurate anyway. I used a Govee WiFi thermometer to help but it was still a constant battle of turning the light up and down all day and night. I wanted to just turn the light off and put in a heat plate instead but the box is way too small for even my small heat plate that only four to six chicks fit under comfortably. I got this on sale and I’m glad I did, it wasn’t worth what I paid and I would’ve been even more annoyed if I had paid more for it. It might be useful to use to isolate a single chick or two but it won’t be useful to put more than that for more than a few days.It was easy enough to put together. It’s easy to clean. It does function as far as turning on and off. The little water container is ok and the chicks use it but it’s also too small to use for more than a week or so. The feed bowl works fine but my chicks have preferred to go all the way into it and sometimes sleep in it.

Best little brooder box!
The media could not be loaded. Easy to put together and even easier to clean!! I may puppy pads down or paper towels then my bedding. I’ve recently switched to hemp bedding. Anyways, it stays warm but can get 2 warm so I leave another thermometer inside to keep a check on it. The clear plexiglass front and lid makes an easy way to keep an eye on the chicks. The lid also makes it easy to clean and get chicks out. It’s very durable. I honestly think the price is great. It comes with 2 bulbs that heat. It is small but Definitely worth the buy! I now use mine to house the smaller chicks or as a temporary box while I clean my large brooder. I will be purchasing another!
