Barely There Women's Second Skinnies Smoothers Scoop Neck Camisole

My situation is that I'm 5'8" tall, around 200 lbs., 42D in a bra, and have absolutely no waist. My hips and thighs are not large, comparatively speaking. The problem is the spare tire around the midriff. I am not a young woman, to say the least(!) and so I've always valued comfort. However, in order to look at least moderately good on a dress-up occasion, I decided to try a shaper.I bought three of them from Amazon: This one, the Barely There Women's Second Skinnies Smoothers Scoop Neck, in a XX-L, for $13.50; the Spanx Trust your Thinstincts Shaping Tank 1069, in a 2XL, for $49.60; and the Self Expressions Skinny Tank (00489), in a 2XL, for $12.60 plus $4.40 shipping. I should note that I will be wearing a bra under any of these shapers as they are not nearly supportive enough in that area.For comparison purposes, the Spanx was the lightest weight of the three and would probably be best on a hot day. But it didn't firm me enough. Perhaps I should have gone down a size, but I compared my measurements with the Spanx size chart, and 2XL was what was indicated. All in all, the Self Expressions Skinny Tank (reviewed elsewhere) was my favorite of the three shapers I purchased, and it's the one I would buy again.This shaper, the Barely There Second Skinnies, was more of a camisole than a shaper. It was tight in the bust, but nowhere else. However, it's quite acceptable as a cami, so I'm going to keep it.

I wanted a smooth shape as opposed to the outline of a bra showing from the back yet I need support. This just doesn't quite do it. Out of the packaging it looked just right, however, I pulled it over my head and over my body and it is loose around the bust so there is not as much support as I would like. Fits great around the waist. My waist is small in proportion to my bust as I have an hourglass figure so I did not order the medium so the waist would not be too tight. Yet with the large the bust is too big and the waist is just right. Just my odd sizing I suppose. I'll keep and wear as a regular camisole rather than a smoother.

Perhaps I am oddly shaped, but for some reason this only seems to hold me in in spots that are already narrower. It doesn't stay pulled down, but bunches in my "muffin top" just making it more emphasized instead of smoothing it out.It is comfortable, my fiancee thinks that the material feels like a swimsuit though. I have worn it all day and not been uncomfortable, and maybe I'm overly critical of how I look, but I will not be purchasing multiples so I can wear them steadily.

At first, I was very disappointed because it isn't really a "barely there" product. It is a Hanes Smoothing Cami. I decided to keep it anyway, and I wore it today while at the gym. It supports better than I thought it would and didn't need to wear a bra. I wore another shirt over it though. I am not sure if I would order another unless it was labeled correctly.

I usually wear a medium and ordered medium which fit exactly as expected. I've only worn it under my tops or blouses. It holds things in better than a regular camisole but it does push up the fatty bulge under and behind the armpits. Not good. It seemed to stay in place well. I'd recommend it as a more form-fitting camisole.

The medium and the large are EXACTLY the same size, and so tight that it MAKES little rolls of fat on the midriff!. The good news is that the top edge is a bit looser, so you don't get "hangover," even with the M or L. I usually wear one of these sizes, but I'm sending these back and I'm going to try the XL!

When I tried in on the material gives so much that their is no hold or support to the body in anyway. I normally wear a large, I ordered a medium so it would hold the body as it is supposed to do, it was too large and not able to do its job. So I returned the item.

I bought this because the description mentioned that it was a tank that also functioned like shape wear...at least, that was the impression I got when I saw the picture.There is little support, but it is made of a light, fabric that would feel good to sleep in. I'm keeping it because I needed a new black tank anyway.Its very stretchy too.
