A great third party wireless gamecube
A decent and better quality wireless Gamecube controller. Been using this controller for months and everything is working almost flawlessly. Almost for there are a few moments where the controller would have lost connection or a single input is stuck on direction. A reset always fixes this not a huge dealbreaker. Loved the way it feels for it feels better than most other third party controller and I perfered this than the standard Gamecube controller. No input lag from my time with it and since I have two of them both connect to the same Gamecube with no issues either. You get great controller for what you paid for.

The real deal
at the time of this review i've owned 2 of these controllers now for a little over 3 weeks and have used them (with a friend) to play many hours of a few games on both gamecube and PC.i would say they are far and away better than any of the numerous 3rd party gamecube controllers i've bought over the years (and i've tried many).the main problem both controllers have had is the A button wanting to stick which is mainly noticeable in games that have you repeatedly smashing the A button to get your abilities off. to fix this problem i took both controllers apart and put a small piece of flexible rubber in the A button's hole so that a very small piece would always be sticking out. i think the company could (and probably should) come up with a more elegant solution.my personal preference would also to make the C stick a bit tighter and make the triggers on the back a bit looser but that's really not a deal breaker.

Modern take on a classic design
First and foremost, if you want an original Gamecube controller... this isn't it. That said, this is a great modern take on that controller. The face buttons feel as expected, the left analog stick is tight and precise, and the dpad (while not great) is miles better than the OEM. I used this for dolphin primarily, but was pleasantly surprised with it on my Wii and Gamecube. The rumble on the controller is pretty bad, but perhaps this is something that can be addressed in a firmware update since it does use full sized motors (based on my teardown). I wish the triggers clicked when fully depressed, but the analog triggers do work. I am also mixed on the right thumbstick, the full thumbstick feels better but isn't as authentic. All in all, if you don't wanna spend over $100 for a Wavebird or you want a similar feeling for Dolphin, this is a great go to.Pros:- Orbital face buttons- Octagonal stick gate- Analog Triggers- Adapter for both Gamecube and USB connectionsCons:- Lightweight and cheap feeling- Analog triggers don't click- Placement of "+" and "-" buttons- Rumble kinda sucksMixed:- The right thumbstick is a full sized stick

Thanks, Retro Fighters, for no more tripping over CORDS!
My partner has lived too many lost games and levels to even count as people tripped over corded controllers thru the decades, but THIS is literally that "game changer" I can't thank you enough for! Platform sits about 6ft up, player sits about 12" off floor & approx. 10ft away, yet there is NO lag whatsoever. As this only makes one controller cordless, I plan on buying another one or two in the future so no one ever has to deal with cord tripping/game loss ever again. Thanks again!

Only one dongle works perfectly
USB dongle is fine, but the one meant for the actual GameCube is very finicky. Fine for PC gaming

From a PC player perspective
I've only used this on my gaming PC and do not own a Switch. In PC games, you may need to change your buttons because the B button and the X button are opposite the Xbox controllerThe bad: The triggers feel delicate and, while analog, definitely feel like they'll break if I squeeze too hard. The D-pad is fine enough I guess. The good: Literally everything else. It connects instantly every time with no issue. It feels great in the hands and all the buttons feel great and satisfying to press At this price, this thing has pretty much been perfect and I can't recommend it enough. I'd love to see Retrofighters manufacture a higher quality version like what The Panda Controller was going to be.This thing is great and if you're a PC player who likes the GameCube layout, then I recommend this one

How do people like this?
First of all, let me just say I got sent the BladeGC when ordering this, rather than the BattlerGC so already off to a bad start.Despite my initial disappointment at having gotten the wrong controller, I didn't care enough about the difference in design to send it back. That was BEFORE I tried it, and wow this thing is AWFUL. Flat plastic across the whole controller, no texturing whatsoever. Mushy face buttons, like REALLY mushy. Somehow the triggers have that same problem but worse. they felt almost unusable in most games I tested in. I mostly tested in project64 and dolphin emulation. which also took about an hour of config to just get all the inputs to work. D-Pad is a mess is miss-inputs.But by farm my BIGGEST complaint is the absoutley TINY cages on the analog. It limits the movement so hard! dont get me wrong, I loved caged sticks. But these are so tight they hardly catch the stick at all, so whats even the point?Having read through lots of reviews, and watching several videos, I had been confident that this was the right controller for me. Im genuinely confused is there something im missing? everyone else seems to like it. Regardless, Im returning mine, and likely wont be giving retrofighters another chance until the Battlergc pro comes.
