The plastic question
When I received other sets of Knork silverware, they felt a lot like plastic, so I did some research. I found the description somewhat misleading. These utensils are made from 85% PLA (Polylactide) and 15% bamboo fiber. While PLA is a "bioplastic" derived from plants like sugarcane, it is heavily processed and quite different from using raw sugarcane.Bioplastics do carry some toxicity risks and break down into microplastics. However, because they are more biodegradable than traditional plastics, they may be somewhat safer for regular use. They are also more environmentally friendly in both production and disposal. That said, bioplastics still take much longer than two years to fully biodegrade unless processed in a specialized facility. My husband and I are trying to avoid traditional plastic due to concerns about microplastic consumption. However, I sometimes notice a metallic taste when using metal utensils, so I tend to prefer plastic alternatives. Currently, the "brushed" finish Knork utensils—like this particular set—are my go-to. In contrast, their "sealed" finish, found on other sets, feels much more like traditional plastic and made me wonder if I’d have heavier exposure. This set feels sturdy, though not quite as much as traditional plastic. That said, it has held up well with daily use. I hand wash it rather than using the dishwasher.

Great item
They are great, very sturdy work. Like regular silverware, and don't rust if you're getting moisture in a boat.

Poor quality
I got several boxes of these and each box was a different shade of the color I got. The material seemed poor. They said they were dishwasher safe. Then when I got the product it said will fade with dishwasher washing. If I had known that before hand I wouldn’t have wasted my time or the companies time. So I thought I’d share my story with all of you!! I don’t have a picture because I sent the product back with no plan to write this review.

Not very reusable
This turned out to be a disappointing purchase. The spoon shape is awesome. Long and ladle shape is spot on. Great balance. The fork is bad. No other way to describe it once heat hits a certain point the tips of tines curl and reshape permanently. This is from food temp and not dishwasher or outside source temp.Spoon awesomeKnife is pretty good, but will break over time.Fork is disappointing,This is daily use as primary utensils for a five family household and a month and half into use. Obviously hoped for better results and quality.

Utensils are not as sturdy as I wanted for camping.
During my first use I broke one fork and bent two others because they couldn't handle the heat pushing into my meat while cutting it.
