Can’t believe that I saved over $1,000 buying this charger! So called experts said I needed to upgrade my garage outlet to 240 volts and a level 2 charger. Instead bought this charger for less than $200. And I got a full 16 amp charging rate completing a full charge overnight. Achieved range averaging 34-37 miles, while my BMW hybrid was rated at 31. Some charging resulted in 39 miles of range. Only installation was attaching the plug and charger to the wall. Had a technical question and they responded quickly with a very competent, patient, and helpful customer service representative. Great product! Very reasonable price.

I need to leave a review cuz I bought this in July 2020 (four years ago) and this charger still works perfectly!Background: I own a Nissan Leaf 2015. I drive 50 miles daily for work and because of the range of this car, I have to charge it overnight almost every day.Charging condition: I live in New York, and I don't live in a place with a garage, I just plug the charger inside and leave a small gap in the window for the cord. The rest is always exposed to the outdoors without any issues. I've changed my car in the rain, storm, and snow season - without issues at all.Automatically stops charging when the car is fully charged: I've left the charger plugged into the car when I'm away for weeks, there's only a couple percentage of battery leaks because it stopped charging once the car is fully charged. Fair enough.

I Purchased this unit in 2021 and wanted a second one for my mom's house when I visit. The model had been updated and the connector did not seat to my BMW 330e charge port. I return it and was immediately sent a replacement which also didn't connect. The barrel that plugs into the car needed to be a few millimeters longer. I contacted Betty from Megear and told her the bad news. After going over the usage steps with me and sending her a video trying to charge the car, she offered me another model free of charge to try. Seriously in doubt but Betty had been so generous with her time and effort, I decided to try it. This one worked! I am truly impressed with Megear's customer service. Never has any company gone through the steps Betty had with me to stand behind their product and satisfy a customer. I've shared my saga with co-workers and family. They will definitely be joining me as customers in the future. Hat's off to Megear's BEST team member!

UPDATE: After just a few months has started dying after charging the car for a very short time. Very frustrating but it seems that this has happened to others much sooner.My EV came with a 240v charging unit and an adapter to convert it to a 110v one, only trouble was it couldn't fit the outside wall outlet in the carport I park in. This dedicated 110v charger alleviates that problem and comes with hanger for cable and a wall plug to keep the car connector neatly out of the way.A month after buying it went into error state, it was the first hot day of the yearIt seems to throttle charging and then goes into an error state. Had to run to a charging station before driving to work to be able to get enough charge to get there and back and went back to using my car makers 240 volt unit with an adapter for 110v use. Looks like it would have been cheaper to install 30 or 50 amp outlet than buy this unit.

Stop working after a month. Decide to just get a Tesla charger. Very disappointing.Update: selling responded to replace the item even after the return expired. Stuff happened but it's nice the seller are willing to work with the buyers.

I bought a 2014 Nissan Leaf that did no come with the OEM charger. I have a dedicated 20 amp plug for my wash machine so I plugged this EV charger into that plug. I just don't wash cloths when charging. This EV charge is charging this leaf quickly for this type of charger. I'm pleased with this purchase.

When my 2015 VW E-Golf arrived from Carvana, I was so excited to take it for a spin. Except it showed up to me with 5 miles left in the "tank" and a level 1 charger that was non-functioning. I did my homework on aftermarket level 1 chargers: reading reviews, watching YouTube, and even calling VW Customer Care to double check that I could use a charger like this safely on my new baby. (I'm a newbie to EV's, so I've been super cautious about all the things related to charging and driving it.)After getting the all clear, I purchased this charger and it arrived promptly, in a nice box and case. I broke it out, plugged it in, and ZAP! The E-Golf was charging like a champ. And like some other folks have noted, it does seem to charge a bit faster than other level 1's. Mine charges on a regular 120V outdoor outlet (grounded) with no trouble whatsoever.

We have had this charger for 1 year and one month. It worked perfectly until today when it stopped charging the car. We can still charge on other chargers so we are confident that it is a malfunction of the charger.
