Seems to work fine. Not sure why one reviewer is complaining about the reading it gives in boiling water and ice - it's intended to measure a tight range either side of 37°C to a pecision of +/- 0.1 °C with reasonable accuracy. If you're that hot or that cold you're fairly dead already. I think the 'Lo' display just means the temp is below the range of the thermometer - nothing to do with the battery. Tip is not very flexible. Not sure why this is a selling point though.

The thermometer arrived with low battery!!Which makes me think this has been used by someone else, but more annoying is the fat that I now have to try and order up a new battery from somewhere. - My mistake, it works.

After several attempts to find decent plastic strip thermometer (we had one for years) I gave in and tried one of these. Works well.

A replacement for an older version. Seems to work well & is easy to read.

According to the leaflet, it is supposed to beep once about 2 sec after turning on. You then take a reading and it is supposed to beep 10 times after 1 min, which apparently is how long it takes to finish. No beeps at all. Not after turning on. Not after having the tip under my tongue for over 2 min. Given that the temperature pretty much stabilises in far less than 1 min, it seems odd to have to wait 1 min. And annoying that its beeper does not work. I bought 2. I have not tried the other yet.When I turn it on, the battery indicator shows for 2 sec, then disappears. I assume that means the battery is ok. I suppose it is possible that the battery is too low for it to beep, but not low enough for the battery indicator to appear (beyond the initial 2 sec)? If I can find a suitable replacement battery, I will give it another go.I am curious to know, has anyone else has had no beeps?

Received the product promptly. However, the battery was "lo" after just 2 uses. Now I am having to place an order for new batteries. What is Amazon's policy in ensuring product quality? Should product quality fail, what help can Amazon offer, if any?

Compared the reading is his thermometer to my Braun thermometer and her was a difference in readings. Secondly, it takes ages to give the readings. Not happy. Asked for a refund.
