Excellent piano tutor which seamlessly blends theory with technique and moves on at a good pace.
I have loved both this book and also the first book of the series. I only wish there was a third book to follow on. My slow learning of the piano in my sixties has been greatly enhanced by these books which are written for adult learners. I came to my online piano tutor part way through book 2 so she got one for herself and has liked it so much she now steers other pupils towards it and recommends it to other teachers. I have self-paced my way through as I am not learning for exams and whilst the theory is healthily challenging at times I have made steady progress with developing skills and technique and can now attempt Grade 2 and 3 pieces. There is a good mix of modern and classical tunes which are adapted where necessary to suit the level being taught. New concepts are introduced in a logical way and the spiral binding makes the books easy to use. The associated online PianoPlayer app is a marvellous resource to enhance the learning experience of the books. The support books of classical, pop or Christmas music are also excellent to use alongside the main books. I thoroughly recommend the whole Adult Piano Adventures series. The availability of more advanced level to the series would make it even more wonderful.

Traditional oriented learning path geared towards adults.
If you like a more traditional approach to learning piano (along the lines of a graded exam curriculum) then this is a useful adjunct to your learning resources. It’s not specifically focused on passing exams (like ABRSM) and is more adult focused but it does emphasise theory as much as practice and also leans towards classical and traditional music. The key emphasis is on developing good keyboard technique and comprehension of basic music theory. If you hate sheet music and are more interested in simply learning to play your favourite songs and they are largely contemporary then this won’t be the most direct route to that end, but you will still learn a lot of very relevant skills. I have found this series of great value and I’m taking both traditional and modern approaches to learning piano.

I can't believe I can now play Bridge Over Troubled Water!
I've said it before about other Adult Piano Adventure books, but I'll say it again: I can't recommend this book highly enough.I have never had a piano lesson in my life, but thanks to the Adventure series, I am not doing too badly. I am currently up to about page 100 of book 2 of the All In One piano lessons, and I thought I would have a go at this book. I'm glad I did!It is full of simple arrangements of popular pieces of music, covering quite a spectrum of musical styles. There are theme tunes to films and TV series, and classic music hits of the seventies through to today. For someone of my skill level, a lot of these are still too difficult for me, but I expect I will get more as I work my way through my All in One book 2. However, those that I can get are driving me to improve, and I feel confident that I will get there in the end.As with the other books in the series, the music sheets also include the finger numbering to aid you, which I find essential. The arrangements are much simpler and shorter than the originals. For example, the James Bond Theme Tune is more a taster of the full big band arrangement from Doctor No, but still has enough for you to get the feel for playing such a well known piece of music. So, if you are doing well with your piano lessons and you feel like rewarding yourself, this is definitely one to consider!
