LOVE THESE FOR MY FIVE YEAR OLD WITH ODD AND EMOTIONAL DYSREGULATION
First of all, these cards are indeed art. I appreciate that so much, as does my five-year-old, who has self-esteem worries, even at his young age.His insecurities come from having bossy older siblings, and he is a pandemic baby, which has added stress to his being able to play and learn from his peers - which is a fundamental way the human brain learns cooperation and collaboration. He is also behind on reading, which he says makes him "stupid" and is oppositional, so these cards are in his "safe space," my bedroom closet. He loves to go in there and sit with the door closed. He has his mindfulness cards and loves to point out the different animals. He will use these cards without my having to remind him to, so I know he loves them because, remember, he is oppositional.Little Otter products are excellent. As I mentioned, they're beautiful in the way they look but also in how they reach little hearts and minds. These cards have genuinely impacted my son's feelings and self-esteem. Each day, he is learning new coping mechanisms and is working with literacy experts. I believe he has dyslexia, so of course, he is frustrated. It's incredible how something as simple as a deck of cards can change his mindset and outlook. If your little one is struggling with big emotions, or you want them to have beautiful affirmation cards just because all children deserve to know how special and perfect they are as they are, Little Otter is an excellent brand. I find myself browsing through them as well. It's so nice that society and our culture are considering kids' feelings. It is so important. Also, as a biologist who has studied neuroscience, I can say with veracity that, based on the amount of synapses in the brain, children aged 2-5 are technically the most intelligent humans. Their brains are being wired now at a rapid rate. It is vital that their neural pathways, or highways in their brains, are headed in the right direction. If they feel stupid, worthless, or unhappy with themselves, this will carry on throughout their lives unless they work hard to rewire their brain through neuroplasticity. It's not easy, but it can be done. I'd instead help prevent or mitigate the problem in my house now.Even with regular toddler tantrums, these can help. These would make a great stocking stuffer, Valentine's gift, or Easter bunny basket gift. Even a "just because" gift. They are such an inexpensive way to introduce your child into the world of positive mindsets and look at the brighter side of things. This will take them so far in life.

Good for Adults Too
Thanks to these cards, I understand better how to take a moment and be mindful with it. I've had a brain injury, and I have ADHD, and a variety of other things are going on with me. It doesn't do any good for people to tell me to "be mindful" and "live in the present moment". I DO live in the present moment, because I can't REMEMBER the past moments, and I have no time sense so I can't tell when the future moments are going to come up and smack me in the face. None of this is making for an enjoyable life, let me tell you. You know what IS making my life more enjoyable? These cards, that are soothing, and peaceful, and not demanding, and not expecting me to know things I don't know, or understand things that everyone else already understands. These cards are lovely. For a long time I didn't even notice that they have stuff on the back! I was just enjoying doing my little turtle taps on my head, and then I saw that one of the cards had something on the back, and I turned over my turtle card and learned all about why I was doing turtle taps. And I understand it!

Cute activity cards
These are thick cards, with nice illustrations and creative ways to be mindful. Many of them are a little too active for my students, asking them to get down on the floor or use up a lot of space is just not practical. Would be great for working with students one on one or at home with your child.
