I would rate with five stars but every time I press it it won't highlight.
I like the large lettersc and numbers. It was extremely easy to set the clock without having to use the instructions. I'm getting older now and a lot of times I feel like I need a college degree to set things and program things. This was really simple and easy to do. There are numerous settings for different ways to show the date and the time. This is also a plus. I'll update if my review changes.

LOVE IT !!
To answer questions that some have had that may or may not be explained in product description or by the Rufus question box: Unit uses stand that merely screws in, that makes the clock approx 5 in deep so shelf needs to be that deep*** Battery for remote is provided and is CR2025 available most everywhere and is replaceable ***Power cord is approx 5 ft long ***Unit does not automatically talk but will recite screen only if you press the OK button on remote ***Daylight savings changes automatically by setting country but can be turned off if you live in state that doesn't use it***can change day and night brightness and the time it changes which also changes day description for example from predawn to morning. ***It came with time set and only a minute off. I wanted it to match my computer time so I left hour as it was, changed seconds to zero and waited for my computer to advance one minute, and moved the minute on clock to match and and exited. Now they both change time within one second. EDIT: IN THE 5 MONTHS I'VE HAD IT, THE DIFFERENCE ENDED UP BEING ABOUT 30 SECONDS. NOT AN ISSUE AND EASY TO ADJUST !*** You can customize wake alarms for days you want to get up for work..for example set time for Mon-Fri or Mon-Wed-Fri or what days you want. If you want to get up at a certain time on other days then set any customized reminder to go off on those days or even use 'drink water' alarm and the time you want to wake.***Alarm volume is adjustable and so is duration and can be confirmed by hitting 'OK' on remote ***Arrived well packaged. Instruction book has clear instructions with a page dedicated to trouble shooting such as if remote not working, be sure tag is removed from remote so battery connects *** Remote is small, seems easy to lose so I attached a large, plastic clothes pin to the bottom edge of it to make it easier to locate...NOT the top as that would block transmission. Remote functions for me at about 8-10 feet away ***You can set the format of how info is shown on the screen and there are color options.***Seniors with issues may need assistance to get to desired settings *** At this time, I am quite pleased with the item and I ordered a second one for another room hoping they don't die before I do...HA. Nice that the remote for the first one also works on the second one!!!!! When I unplugged and moved the first one and plugged back in....ALL SETTINGS remained, ***Price is decent compared to others with less functions/options and are without a remote.

The sun/moon icons are especially great for dementia/Alzheimer's patients
This is a pretty neat clock that many people would enjoy however, it is has been especially great for a family member who is afflicted with Alzheimer's.We purchased this clock specially for the icon of a sun and moon since he has increasing trouble with reading comprehension. The icon has been very helpful in his orientation. When he gets disoriented, he almost starts to panic--this clock has been a comfort to him. Before purchasing, he would repeatedly ask me for the time and also ask "are more people awake or asleep right now?" He hasn't asked me once since we got this clock. His peace of mind is so much better now. He asked me if we can put one of these clocks in every room lolHe also can still understand where it says "morning", "afternoon" and "night" though he is still struggling with the date and days of the week--though this is no fault of the clock.I also like that users can decide when they want "morning" or "night" to begin since for some people may consider 3am morning and others would consider it night. To help with his disorientation, I think we ended up setting it to say "night" whenever he should be in bed. And "day" or "morning" when most people are awake.I wish it was battery operated so we could have more flexibility in where to put it, but it is still worth it. I also thought the clock would be slightly larger but he still can understand it better than his larger one that only displays words and numbers. The sun/moon icons really are game changers for him!I hope it lasts!

Helpful clock for elderly with medication/time confusion
I got this for a dear elderly person who was having some confusion around time and medication schedules. I programed this clock with their medication schedule (5x day) and paired it with a whiteboard they could check off after the pills were taken. It was fairly easy to set up, although the remote sensitivity is a little persnickety. One thing I like about it is that I have two antibiotic doses in the clock ready to go and all I have to do is turn them on when they're needed and the screen flashes the medication name I entered. I love how everything is spelled out, even with the sun and moon icons. The volume is adjustable, and while there are a few display options, they liked the default black background with white lettering the most and we haven't changed it since we set it up.I found myself humming a tune the other night and paused to think about what it was. It was the alarm from this clock! So, the alarm is a pleasant little tune that isn't jarring and the family does a bit of interpretive dance to it with our person to make taking the meds a bit more fun. The volume of the alarm is also adjustable.I didn't realize it, but it you hit the "ok" button on the remote, it will audibly read you the date and time, which is a cool feature we don't often use, but it's nice to have.I have already recommended this little clock (it's about the size of a smaller ipad) to a friend for her elderly parent who's been struggling with their medication schedule and time awareness.
