Fun interactive book
The media could not be loaded. I got this for my 17 month old daughter. She doesn’t engage much with the book, which is expected. But she does associate things to the pictures. Such as the page about taking a bath, she say water. She likes to look at the kids on each page. The book is great because it intends to teach and encourage kids to do certain things before bed. Such as tidy their toys before bed, wash and brush their teeth. It will ask if they did it or not. There’s other questions about what they prefer. So the kids essentially read the book, they are asked to do a task and are asked a question. This will get them thinking and doing things.

Sweet simple story
A nice little bedtime book if your child’s a Thomas fan – gentle story and sturdy pages, perfect for little hands. It fits in well with a calming bedtime routine. That said, it’s quite a simple read and over in a flash. Feels a touch overpriced for what you get – there are more engaging bedtime books out there for the same money. Lovely branding, but more for collectors than storytime substance.

Relaxing bedtime book.
This is a short and sweet toddler's book that is good for encouraging a regular bedtime routine. Half of the book contains imagery of Thomas and Friends cartoon characters winding down for the day, and the other half contains photos and colourful graphics promoting healthy habits like brushing teeth, tidying up, and reading; it does this in a positive and encouraging light. Overall, this book manages to get its messages across well, and from experience, it seems to have a relaxing effect on my little one.Personally, I hoped it would include more images of trains and have more of a detailed storyline to make a more interesting tale. However, it does the job as a short read, and it teaches good habits foremost, so I’m happy with it.Finally, I like that each page is made from cardboard that’s hard to bend, so it’s very durable and can withstand being thrown around and grappled by a youngster. The overall build is high quality, and the graphics are colourful, vibrant and fun.

Well illustrated and colourful
This is a lovely bedtime board book, they use Thomas The Tank Engine and his friends to take young children through their bedtime routine. As you go through the book the pages on the left feature Thomas and his friends, the pages on the right show what needs to be done on the journey to bed. The book is very well illustrated and is colourful, it’s made from good quality board so is going to be very hard wearing - which is important as it’s aimed at the 1 to 4 age group. Happy to recommend.

Okay
My daughter love Thomas so this book seems perfect. She’s currently 2 but this book is a little too simple for her - probably more suited to a one year old. There is no real story just the trains ‘having a bath’ etc.My main issue with the book is that on most pages it doesn’t say who the characters are. My daughter has to know who the different trains are but there are hundreds and I can’t remember them all! I just wish each page had the characters’ names.

A fun way to learn bedtime routines
Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends was one of my son’s favourite shows in the early 90s; he had books, videos and toys. Now, with a young son of his own, I jumped at the chance to review this ‘Bedtime’ book. This board book is sturdy, bright and colourful.I like that it contains the familiar characters of Thomas and his Friends on one side and real images of young children on the opposite side completing tasks. The simple text and pictures help young children understand and learn the nightly wind-down routines, for example, tidying, having a bath, getting into pyjamas, and, most importantly, reading a bedtime story.

Simple Routine Building
We have read a few routine building books. The type of thing that you read to a baby/toddler to try and help them understand the steps that lead to bed. Get a good routine and your life becomes far easier at night time. This board book goes through all your typical steps from washing your teeth, reading a book and settling, but it is draped in 'Thomas & Friends' livery.Does this enhance the book? A little, if your child is a fan of the newer version of the characters. The pages are full colour and you normally get a picture of one of the vehicles and some pictures of real children doing the exercise. The open happy faces of the children draw a baby's eye as much as Thomas does, so are a good addition. The book itself is designed well for a toddler with thick card pages and a nice wobbly edges that makes it a fun book to hold and play with. It has a nice appeal, but is not any more advanced than any other routine book. You are best getting this for a fan of the show or someone you think would be a fan if they saw it!
