Solid, No-Frills Plates – Best Value Out There
If you’re building out a home gym and don’t care about flashy branding or fancy finishes, these CAP Barbell plates are hands-down the best bang for your buck. I’ve loaded up on a bunch of 10s so I can scale weight gradually, and it’s been the perfect setup for progressive overload without blowing my budget. They’re exactly what you want in a plate: durable, accurate in weight, and built to last. No wobble, no weird coating smells, no cosmetic nonsense—just solid iron that does the job. The center holes fit snugly on a standard Olympic bar, and they’ve held up great through all kinds of workouts—everything from deadlifts to rows to landmine work.I like having more 10s because it gives me flexibility in loading, especially for accessory work or when I’m working with clients who need smaller jumps. It’s way more versatile than just stacking 45s and calling it a day.At this price point, you really can’t beat it. Whether you’re outfitting a full garage gym or just adding to your current setup, these are a smart investment. No ego-lifting—just real training.Btw the rest of my plates are Rogue and other than looking cool, I can’t figure out why I paid so much for those

Be aware, these are STINKY for a while
I like how much thinner these are than my other plates. They are easier to grab and hold than thicker plates, and the rubber is more comfortable than metal plates. Very easy to put on and off, or hold for squats. They did stink for about a month before the smell finally started to fade, but even now I can still somewhat smell them.

Good Value for all the Weight.
The weights came in several different boxes that UPS left at the end of our drive. I got a workout just carrying the weights to the house. Like most people have said, the weights come oily and have a smell to them, but I let them air out in the garage and they are just fine. The price is right for this much weight.

Solid plates. Good value.
The plates feel solid, and they fit perfectly on my Olympic bar without any wobble. When I first unpacked them, there was a noticeable odor, which seems typical for new rubber plates. After leaving them in my garage for a few days, most of the smell faded and it’s barely noticeable now. Overall, I’m happy with this plates set. They’re sturdy, easy to use, and work well for my workouts. Unfortunately, one of the 45lb plate arrived with a split along the rim. While this was disappointing, I reached out to Amazon’s support team and they resolved the problem quickly and professionally. Despite the initial hiccup, I’m fine with the product and satisfied with the customer service I received.

10/10
Solid construction, smooth feel. A little easy to scuff up. Great addition to the home gym at a good price. They do come in an oil of some sort you will want to clean off and air out. I’m assuming it’s to preserve the rubber material in warehouse storage. Scent does go away. Functional and right on weight.

Affordable and Solid for a Starter Home Gym
I picked up a set of CAP bumper plates for my starter home gym, and overall, they’ve been a great choice—especially if you’re on a budget. These are probably the cheapest decent plates I could find that aren’t the "Signature Fitness" brand, which was a big selling point for me as I’m just getting my setup off the ground. For the price, they deliver everything I need to kickstart my home gym routine.Out of the box, I’ll be honest—they arrived pretty greasy and oily, which might turn some people off. It seems like they’re coated with some kind of protective film from the factory, and while it’s a bit of a hassle to wipe down, it didn’t bother me too much. A quick scrub with a rag and some elbow grease got them ready to go, and once that was done, they’ve been perfectly functional. I also noticed some of the plates had minor damage—like small nicks or scuffs—but nothing significant enough to warrant a return. You get what you pay for, and at this price point, a few cosmetic imperfections aren’t a dealbreaker for me.For a beginner like me, these plates are spot-on. They’re durable enough for standard lifts and drops (I’ve got them on horse stall mat setup), and the rubber coating keeps the noise and floor damage to a minimum. They’re not fancy or high-end, but they don’t need to be—at this price, you’re getting solid, no-frills bumper plates that work for deadlifts, squats, or whatever else you’re throwing at them. Weights are weights, and these do the job just fine.If you’re building a starter gym and don’t want to spend a fortune, CAP bumper plates are a fantastic option. Just be prepared for a little cleanup when they arrive and don’t expect perfection with the finish. For the cost and performance, I’d say they’re a win—perfect for anyone easing into home lifting without breaking the bank!
