Loved the idea of this shower head. It comes in the box partially assembled. It has vague instructions on how to take apart and put several gaskets and plumbers tape in place. I found the filter part of the shower head hard to unscrew and then put back together properly. I didn’t realize it wasn’t twisted all the way until I installed the entire piece in my shower. It leaks a large stream of water down the hose of the shower head and all over the back of the shower. I have tried several times to disassemble the filter part and it won’t come apart.

I'm very much enjoying this new shower filter. A number of other reviewers have noted leaks, and the cheap quality of the fixture. They aren't wrong about the fixture quality--it appears as poorly coated silver plastic. I did not experience any leaks though. It was very simple and fast to install. The shower head only has two spray settings, one of which forces water out of just one hole at the front end of the shower head. I suppose it might be useful when cleaning the shower but I'm going to replace just the head with the shower head I took off to install it. Also the hose doesn't have the best flexibility.The main point of this, however, is the filtration. And that part is excellent. Water is immediately soft and it's improved my dry skin very quickly and my hair is loving not being doused in chlorine and who knows what else. You do need to run hot water through per the instructions, but once the carbon has been flushed out the water quality seems to be very very good. I have noticed a slight decrease in water pressure, but it's not significant and I imagine it's to be expected since the water needs to first pass through the filter portion. Water pressure is still fine-just slightly less than before. It filters many more contaminants than the majority of shower filters which I find valuable. Buyers should be aware that because the filter sticks out so much, your shower head will be lower and longer than others. It's not a problem in my shower but may be for some.I also use the Crystal Quest bath tub filter, which will have it's own review. Other than the cheap-looking housing, this is a wonderful product.

Amazing customer service (Crystal Quest) and very good value of product for the cost. My 3rd (3 homes) shower head filter!These filters take the chlorine and many other things out of the water. I have very short hair so I don't notice the difference in the fluffy component of hair washed with this BUT I do notice my skin feels so much nicer - even after the first washing. I live in Phoenix and the water is just awful - about 780 TDS where I live and still notice a huge difference with these filters. I installed one for my mom at her request and she has longer hair and her hair has more volume, feels cleaner and healthier (quoting her). I just installed a second filter on her guest bathroom shower and didn't even need to reference the instructions - that's how easy they are to install!As far as technical know how - it's a cinch to install these. NO wrench is even required! Each piece comes separate in the box wrapped to perfection but don't let that scare you, it's to minimize scratching the pretty chrome and plastic during shipping/handling. There's a laminated card with step by step instructions included (quite mice actually), along with one extra black gasket that you may need when it comes to install a new filter (they last a year - pretty long time for shower filters). Even for a first time installer, it's a cinch.Esthetically these filters are still pretty sharp looking. I was wondering how they would look in her now house and actually, they look pretty updated alongside all of her new fixtures.

I have been using this product for almost a year now. Initially everything looked perfect. However, the hand held shower unit is made of a poor quality plastic so is the tubing. after 3 months of use, the tubing ruptured because the metal framing around it had a sharp end which was not fixed properly and over time, it cut the rubber. I had to buy a new hose to replace the old one along with a new shower head. after a while the connector between the shower head and the filter broke, since it was plastic. Now, I just have the filter from the original package but have a beautiful new shower head and hand held combo attached to the filter with a new metal connector. Hope the filter does not brake with the new shower set!!

I grew up in New York and absolutely never gave a second thought to the quality of our water. My hair was always soft, manageable, and shiny. Then I moved to the midwest where I found the hardest water in the U.S. It clanks as it comes out of the tap. You have to use a chisel to remove the residue from your counters. It leaves my hair dirty-looking, stringy, dull, and flat. Water softeners don't do a thing to help. Even moving to a neighborhood with so-called "city water" is no improvement.I tried every type of shampoo and conditioner, tried rinsing my hair in rainwater I collected in a barrel (that worked a bit though it can be quite a shock in the winter), and concocted a vinegar rinse. Finally, I purchased the Crystal Quest with its super-duper filter. Not only is my hair soft and manageable again, but my skin feels much better, too. It was easy to install and works great. If you live in an area with hard water, treat yourself and get one of these handheld showers!

I live in Chicago, where the city water is hard. I purchased this showerhead with some reservations because of the previous reviews. So, far, I am very pleased with the product. The showerhead does give you increased water pressure, resulting in a more powerful and cleaner shower experience. LESS RESIDUE!! My skin, scalp and hair is less dryer than before! The installation process was easy and quick, no dripping or leaks. The filter seems to work great, you do have to reverse the filter on occasion. This product is mostly affordable, due to the long filter life (up to one year). One negative, the showerhead only has 3 or 4 water settings, most have 5 settings in this price range.
