Good and sturdy piece of metal.
Items came in the post nice and early and well packed! The reason I bought this is to stop the draught coming in through the key hole but there's a minor flaw. There's a gap created by the spacer inbetween the cover and the backplate. Not a big issue, I managed to solved it by filling the gap with a piece of cardboard. Didn't use the screws that came with it, I stuck it on the door with a double sided gorilla tape.

It's Time to Update
My old lock was looking a bit rusty and uncared for, so I decided to update it with this Victorian simple close keyhole cover. I bought this style to keep the wind from blowing through the keyhold, but at the moment I'm waiting for the cover seal to get a bit loose, as at present it's a bit stiff, so the closed cover doesn't automatically swing shut as yet, when you go to put your key into the door to open or lock it. It compliments the other Victorian brass style fittings very well, as I already have these on the front door, and makes it look like it was bought as a set.

Key hole
Looks good on the door well made and stiff enough to hold it in open position ready for use.

Good quality materials
Used on external door, should last well but the cover plate rattles in the wind which is annoying

Decent quality
I bought two of these for both sides of an internal garage door. My house is airtight so this is important. The cover is a good, tight fit - still can be moved without difficulty but does not rattle like some products can. The edges are perhaps a little on the sharp side, but that's about all I can find fault with.

Utter rubbish, nearly impossible to slide open!!!
This product is utterly unusable, they are far too stiff to open. We ordered two sets, which is four screw holes and they arrived with three screws.I discovered that they are pressed too tightly as they are very very difficult to open, they do not slide apart as easily, I had to prise one with a screwdriver and still it was very hard to slide across between my fingers.I have to now buy two more elsewhere.

A fundamental flaw.
This Carlisle Brass Victorian Keyhole cover is nicely made and looks good BUT the gromit that affixes the cover to the fixing plate protudes slightly behind the fixing plate and prevents the item being installed flat! This also prevents the usage of glue because the flat fixing plate doesn't sit flush on any surface. Doh!

Looks good and easy to fit
The front part stays in place and does not rattle, which was a concern. Looks good and easy to fit.
