The media could not be loaded. Just what I needed. Not too bright, not too dim... A nice warm but bright light to illuminate my steps and retaining wall without spilling light onto my deck, thanks to the half dome top. They are fairly large in size but when buried at ground level they blend into the landscape.

This particular lamp emits 420 lumens, placing it in the middle range compared to their other models: 350 lumens for the anti-glare louvered lamp and 580 lumens for the open-faced area light. These lights are all well-built with heavy aluminum construction and an appealing rubbed oil bronze finish.The taller hood of this lamp suited perfectly for illuminating shrubbery in front of my house without causing glare back towards the home. A key feature to quickly judge the quality of a landscape lighting fixture is the length of the wire emerging from it for connection to your main power supply cable. Upon first receiving this landscape light I thought that it did not come with the stated 3 foot long wiring pigtail. There wasn't any wire emerging from the light fixture when I removed it from its cushioned box. There was no mention of it in the installation directions included in the package. And I was about to complain that it wasn't as described online ... until I decided to open up the unit to see how I might be able to attach my wiring to it inside of its outer housing in a waterproof manner. That is when I discovered that the wiring emerged from the inner unit through a waterproof grommet and that it could then be drawn out through one of the 3 knock-outs on either side and the bottom of that outer shell. I think I will still apply some water seal to the two side knock-outs since they could easily allow water to enter the outer shell at a level equal to or above the inner wiring emerge point to provide me with a bit of additional waterproofing.Otherwise this is a quality built landscape lighting fixture. It has a dark bronze finish on the metal shroud that will be exposed to view above ground. There are dual waterproofing "O" rings sealing the upper metal section to the sides of the lower plastic section. At the bottom of the metal fixture are cooling fins to keep the unit from overheating (although these will be enclosed inside the rather cramped buried lower plastic shell). The pigtail wire is of sufficient length to allow easy attachment and burial of the actual connections to the main power supply cable. The ends of the wires have been tinned. And the 6 watt LED light is sufficiently bright enough for use in most residential up-lighting situations. For this level of quality the under twenty-five dollar price is a bargain.

I own mostly the outdoor light fixtures sold at the big box stores. They all fail after few year of exposure to the elements. I really like the build quality on these. The aluminum housing makes them stand up to being stepped on by accident in a landscape bed. The light output is very bright and very wide. I do find the light to be a bit too bright for use around trees and outdoor statues. The light looks more like a spotlight in those scenarios.
