Rod-X Pro Fishing Rod Holder for Perception Kayaks

I have a Pescador Pro, and the built in rod holders absolutely stink, as we all know. But I think these make the situation worse. It's a long tube that lifts the rod higher in the air, increasing the leverage against that shallow little hole in the deck. The bottom of the holder does not fit tightly, and there's no easy way to retain it. Just get a crate or cooler and attach some rod holders to that for storage. This appears to be a solid, well made product, but I don't get the design.

Unusable. Doesn't fit right in the kayak molded sockets. And I have a Perception Sound kayak, that they claim this holder is compatible with. At some point it simply fell out and it cost me a perfectly fine fishing rod. It floats though, in case somebody was wondering... my lost rod didn't. I wish it was the other way around.

Other people have posted these fishing rod holders do not fit tight. I bought two of these black holders for my Perception Hook 10.5 fishing kayak and they sure fit tight for me. Ignoring some of the reviews and buying these was a good decision ... for me.

it looks good but it is very expensive on the part of perception kayak and it is loose you have to hold it with a bungee

The concept of having a rod holder with a one piece design that is supposed to snuggly fit in the molded in rod holder just isn't the case here.I have a Perception Pescador 12 (2018 model) and I purchased two of these suckers. They are constantly falling out. I have to tie them down with a bungee cord and carabiner.I do give it slightly better than a 1 star because they do float in the water. They are not as tight/snug fitting as the description and videos lead you to believe. You are almost better off purchasing some flush rod mount holders from Yak Gear, Scotty, or Yak Attack to outfit your kayak with.My recommendation would be to skip this and save your money.

They dont fit at all, not into the premolded holes in my perception kayak nor do rods really fit well, bungees are too low. Complete garbage!

I hate to say it but this because I really wanted it to be the solution to the terrible molded rod holders but it fits very loosely. Every time I tried to pull my rod out the rod holder came out with it. I fished offshore and was nervous the whole time that my rod was soon going to fall out.

Definitely an imperfect workaround to a design flaw in the Perception Pilot. The rod holders do not fit snugly enough by themselves to stay in place.
