Great entry level PoE switch
Definitely the budget option. The PoE works fine as long as you get the higher Watt option. Has basic functionality on options like VLAN so that worked out fine. Great for edge network or if you want 48 port PoE for a small network.

This switch model is a bugged lemon
I bought these switches (4 of them) for our company's new IT closet setup. Upgraded all switches to the latest firmware. All switches experienced the following issues.1. Caused VOIP delay/cutout (voice vlan settings / QoS made no difference2. Stopped responding completely (frozen ports) until reboot performed (about once a month at first, about once per week toward the end (6 months).Tried endlessly to fix these damn things to save the company money, but eventually threw in the towel and purchased HP Aruba switches that have been flawless and more responsive.Even worked with Netgear's advanced tech support and hired a consultant. The only option in the end was replacement.I wouldn't even turn these into our local IT recycler for fear that they would be sold and someone else would be saddled with these nightmares. Please, take my advice, and stay far, far away.

All looks
The switch looks nice. Very Enterprise feel. The one I got didn't power up the poe phones well. The phones kept rebooting as though there are enough power. Also the blab configuration didn't work. It wouldn't pass any vlan traffic.Returned and went back to Cisco instead.

Please dont
Please dont buy these for your rack mounted office lan switch. They are single corded devices and if your PDU dies or the power supply in it dies (non replaceable btw), YOUR ENTIRE NETWORK GOES DOWN! Plus while I didnt call netgear's tech support for this Ive called them before and they give you 90 days free support then you have to pay for their "expertise". What happened to standing behind your product?
