Goutrin (60 Capsules) Brand: Organika

I have used Goutrin to treat two gout attacks. In both cases, I took it as soon as the symptons occurred, and the gout was completely relieved in 24-48 hours. In the second attack, I combined the Goutrin with two Motrin tablets (200mg ibuprofen per tablet) and that worked very well to knock out the gout quickly. It also seems to help to take Goutrin for a day or two after the symptons disappear to prevent any possibility of a quick recurrance.The recommended Goutrin dosage for adults is one tablet in the morning and one in the evening with a meal. I did not have exceed the recommended dosage to get positive results.The pills are large and are brown in color. They do not upset my stomach at all and the taste is not bad.The listed medicinal ingredients are: Cherry Fruit Powder (100mg), Thyme Leaf Powder (100mg), Celery Seed Powder (100mg), Peppermint Leaf 15:1 Extract (60mg), Vitamin C (30mg).I am very pleased with Goutrin and can reccomend it as a natural treatment to neutralize uric acid and to control gout attacks.UPDATE 6/9/2011: This review was for the 60 table bottle. I just received a 120 tablet bottle of Goutrin. The ingredients have changed. It now shows Vitamin C as the main ingredient with 250 mg. It lists the cherry fruit powder as a non-medicinal ingredient but gives no miligram info. The old label said "Traditionally Used As A Natural Uric Acid Neutralizer." The new label says "An Antioxident For The Maintenance of Good Health." There is nothing about uric acid on the new label. It appears that Goutrin is now a Vitamin C tablet with very minimal or no impact on Gout. I can no longer recommend Goutrin due this change of ingredients in the product, and I no longer believe that Goutrin can be useful to control Gout attacks.

I'm very pleased with this product. It's neutralized the uric acid and I've had no side affects whatsoever. Everything else I've tried has caused rashes and terrible itching. Thanks for being there.

I start taking this at the first sign of an attack (slight pain and redness in the big toe joint) and stop Gout in it's tracks! Worth every penny.

So the new formulation of Goutrin (in Canada) has 250mg vitamin C per capsule.I tried Goutrin on a recommendation, and within 3 weeks I had 2 gout attacks.I stopped using the Goutrin for several weeks, then an attack started (twinge in the toe), so I took 2 Goutrin.The attack worsened.Went to my doctor, who gave me a prescription for more colchisine (and Allopurinol, should I decide to go on that).The medical data sheet for the Allopurinol states that one should AVOID vitamin C;[...]No wonder my gout got worse with the Goutrin!
