Q: Is there any difference, other than the included tag condoms and lanyards, between this and the Loc8tor Pet Handheld Finder also on Amazon?

The $69 Loc8tor Lite has 2 fobs, whereas the $99 Loc8tor Pet Handheld has 4 fobs; otherwise, there appears to be no difference other than packaging (I purchased the Loc8tor Lite). Note that the Loc8tor Plus is an entirely different unit. Specs are at www.loc8tor.com

Q: How loud is the beep? E.g. decibels?

Beep is very low. We use the coloured indicator lights to find the cat. It works very well. The transponder on the cats collar gives off a low beep and he seems to know we are looking for him and he heads home.

Q: Will the new Loc8tor register the old, oval shaped tags?

i have the round tags. the loc8tor auto shut off stopped working within 24 hrs, runs the battery down, trying to get it returned.
