Great size and accurate threads
Exactly as I needed to install a ball mount for my camera on my walking stick

threading is consistent and clean
Met my needs perfectly.threads were accurate, and material seems more than strong enough to provide appropriate tension.I can't tell if the zinc plating will be decent until some time has passed, but the quality seems good so I'm hopeful.

Poorly formed threads will not engage with 1/4-20 nuts- unusable
I tested these threaded rods with known-good 1/4-20 nuts, and the nuts would not even engage two turns before jamming. I couldn’t believe it, so I checked that the threaded rods are indeed 1/4-20, and they are. The problem is that the threads are not uniformly formed. Combined with the zinc plating, the 1/4-20 nuts will not thread on at all. It just goes to show you that it’s possible to screw up a product as mundane as a threaded rod. Stay away, not recommended.

These are what I expected.
The rods are exactly what I needed. They are exactly the size I needed.

Threaded rods not uniform quality
I ordered these threaded rods for use as horizontal supports between two rack vertical end pieces. The 1/4"-20 threaded rods are manufactured from (magnetic) alloy steel and are zinc plated for corrosion resistance; the package contains four 12" long rods in a zip closure plastic envelope. Upon receipt I threaded (not included) 1/4"-20 stainless steel hex nuts onto the rods; two of the rods threaded easily, one rod threaded with effort (use lubrication), and one rod jammed multiple different hex nuts after just a few turns. The jamming rod's threads showed visible erosion while the hex nut threads appeared undamaged, and the jamming rod shows greater thread variation (e.g., flat spots) when rotating the rod in sunlight. Three out of four rods satisfies my project needs, but IMO the vendor has control problems producing uniform quality threaded rods (minus one star).

Exactly as advertised
I'm gathering materials to make a very specific shelf to fit in my kitchen window, so I haven't actually used these yet. But the threads are even and collars screw onto them smoothly. They're the advertised length/diameter/etc, too.

Threads not uniform on all rods, still usable
The media could not be loaded. I used these on a fencing project, that needed some bolts on the corners 2 of the four worked great the treads were uniform and made for quick work. The other two had some resistance and took a little more torque from a wrench to get the nuts on, but overall got the job done.

Very poor threads. Unacceptable.
The thread quality is terrible. Those crudely-threaded galvanized rods engage my high-quality 1/4"-20 nut either with difficulty — and high friction AFTER engagement (two of the four rods) — or not at all (the other two rods).Unacceptable. One star.*______________________________________________________* You may want to consider avoiding this seller (Zadery) generally. I've also received and reviewed some CLAIMED-to-be-304-stainless-steel 1/4"-20 threaded rods from this same seller and found those rods to be highly magnetic — clearly NOT made from 304 stainless steel or even one of the other more corrosion resistant austenitic stainless steels. Probably made from either a ferritic or martensitic stainless steel. Another black mark on the reputation of the seller.
