Scuba Choice Spearfishing 12" Stainless Steel Pole Spear Tip Single Barb Head – Durable Replacement for Palantic Fiberglass & Carbon Fiber Pole Spears

I purchased this Spearfishing 12" Stainless Steel Pole Spear Tip Single Barb Head from Scuba-Choice, to have on the boat when I go offshore. It came in two pieces, the collar is aluminum, female threaded for the spear point and the pole to attach if necessary. The point is sharp and sturdy, It measured at 0.314 inch diameter and it is 12 inches long from the end of the coupler to the point, when they are both screwed together. The spear that goes with this point is not yet ordered. I plan to use a fiberglass rod that I can drill, tap and use so it mounts just as the fishing rods will, along side of my center console. I am sure I won't use it much, unless I begin to spearfish underwater, but I most likely will just use it from the boat, as a pass time to gaff and pull in hooked fish or try my luck at harpooning. If it becomes a memorable experience, I'll return and add to or detract from this review.

Works well, needs sharpening if you spear fish in shallow water and hit the sand/stone behind the fish, but that’s my error so still 5 star.Otherwise a well built part for the pole spear.

Works well but dulls quickly after hitting rock a few times and can be bent pretty easily.

Amazon says this would fit Scuba choice spearpole and it does not. I called Scuba choice to get a recommendation of a spear that would work. I told them how it wouldn’t work because the threads were recessed. They said the would send me a link with the correct product.I got very poor customer service because they resuggested the same tip!Then I told them I needed the tip by Friday because I was going in my trip. So on Tuesday I ordered 2-day shipping and they took so long to communicate with me and so long to ship that my 2-day shipping will take 7 days and I will not have my correct polespear tip for my trip. I am out the expedited shipping costs and no spear tip for my trip either! I do not recommend Scuba Choice!

Does not thread on to my polespear the way it currently is.. going to have to make some modifications to it, do some cutting. Seems well made but they should make it universal or include an adapter or something

I hit two fish in a line with this tip, and caught both of them. Ultimate piercing strength! Howeverrrr If you do accidentally hit a rock, it might dent the tip. So be cautious.

My tip works great, really makes a difference when shooting through medium and large sized fish. If the poon makes it through(and it almost always does) then the fish is toast. Just keep making sure it stays tight because a spinning fish will try to unthread it.
