Light weight, sturdy
I ordered these pediatric charts to do distance acuity testing for young children in the schools. They are perfect. I am going to order more.

Same problem as the one at the doctor's office
This is pretty much the same chart that our toddler just can to read/see at the doctor's last month. I have the same complaint about this chart, as I did the one at the office. They shouldn't have icons that aren't necessarily known to a 3 year old. The two icons that were problematic were the sailboat and the flag. The boat wasn't too bad, as she was eventually able to describe that it sort of looked like a boat. For the flag, toddlers only really associate the American flag as being called a flag for the most part... so our toddler started by saying, "I don't know what that is. It's like a box with a star in it. What is that supposed to be Daddy?" "I DON'T KNOW EITHER. Maybe a flag?", I said. I want to deduct a star for this, but I realized that this is pretty much the industry standard for child eye charts. I do like that each line has the vision rating printed next to it, like 20/20, 20/10, etc. When it comes to the quality of the chart, it is printed on thick canvas. The frame ends are cheap wood with brad nails holding it together. Usually wood looks better than plastic, but I'm not sure in this case. It would've been nice if it was made with a different kind of wood that has some weight to it - especially since the chart takes a few days for the curled up shape to flatten out. At $12 with a 10% coupon, it's price appropriately.

Great to add variety to your pretend play area!
We received the 20ft distance eye chart. We are using it for fun and not for diagnostic purposes. This chart would be a great addition to a pretend play corner in a children's museum or preschool. With that said, this eye chart appears to be the same one used by the pediatrician. I tried it out myself, and with my glasses, I do have 20/20 vision. Due to this, you might want to note about not having this up long term as a young child might memorize the shapes for the 'real test.' The chart is easy to wipe and arrived nicely wrapped in a thick plastic bag. It hangs nicely. Also, the natural wood smells nice.

Very nice
I got this because I have a wall of oddball stuff that I like to display. I have another eye chart, a standard one, that is on one side of the display and I put this one on the other. It's a nice piece to look at, and definitely a conversation starter, which is the reason I got it. It is made very well and I don't think it will tear or break any time soon. Whether or not you need it for its intended purpose or just want to display it with random things, it's a good quality piece.

This came with cards
This came with flash cards of the shapes. The canvas, or just the printing is coated with something vinyl and I had a strong smell when opening. Now *knowing* if the shapes used are appropriate, for this test is not my cup of tea.For us - This is more for practice or pretending at home, it's recommended to work with an eye doctor for a true diagnosis. Additionally if your kiddo can speak they may know their letters and numbers and be especially excited to do the REAL test. This may be great for non-verbal kiddos.I've had an item change on me in the far past. At purchase this was called "Pediatric Eye Chart for Kindergarten Child, Kids Visual Acuity Test Wall Chart with Wooden Frame and Canvas for Eye Exams 10 Feet 15 x 8 Inches (10 Feet Distance)" This is a new product, so it's description may adjust to suit the product over time.

Clearly printed, Easy to Hang
Instead of an eye chart with letters this uses basic shapes (circle, house, star, square, & apple). You stand ten feet away and see what you can read accurately and it gives you an idea of you visual acuity. It is clearly printed on canvas. The top an bottom have unfinished wood to keep the chart from curling. There is a rope at the top to make hanging very easy.It also included 3 square cards that have one of the symbols printed on either side so you can tell your little one what they are called (if they don't already know).
