I love this series!!!!!
I was looking to buy these books again after rewatching the show, because I hadn’t read them since I think middle school. But the hardcover box set was almost $200 so this was a perfect $50!! These books are incredible and everyone should read them!

The Complete Wreck is not a a wreck at all!
The box set is amazing! The books are high quality and I love the feel of the pages. It's thick and the edge textures make the book feel so "old(?)" but in a good way. In comparison with some other book box sets, I like this box set more because there is enough space in the box for the entire set to fit snuggly, but enough space to pull the books in and out with ease and without damaging the books. As for the contents of this book, I love it as well. I never read it as a child, so this is my first time reading it. I'm currently on the sixth book and I must say, this series is as depressing as the omniscient narrator says. I can understand why I never read it as a child as it is very dreary, but as an adult, I can appreciate the depressing humor that goes into it. The books are very easy to read, sometimes redundant and the plot often repeats, but with different characters (especially int he earlier books), but I think of this as a pro rather than a con because this is a children's book series. It makes it easier for the younger audience to read and understand. Little snippets that explain the meaning of a word is also helpful and a great way for kids to learn new vocabulary. However, the narrator does tend to go off on a tangent sometimes which may distract the overall plot from the younger readers. However, I do recommend this series to children ages 8 and up.

Well-packaged
Awesome! It came inside an Amazon box, covered by bubble wrap. And the boxset was sealed. The books are good quality and the ship fast. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

If you've seen the movie; now read the books!
I was first introduced to A Series of Unfortunate Events through the movie, which captured my attention, especially to the darkness of the plot and the plight of the children, but the movie never provides one with a complete picture on the dark characters pursuing the poor orphans. The books made several very important discoveries come to light on the details to the children's unfortunate plight (often times as books will do). The Books bring to life the critical and not so critical characters of the story and details just exactly how smart these orphans are in order to evade their captors, outwit their new "caregivers" and how they handle their unfortunate circumstances through wit, charm and extreme intelligence. I recommend that everyone keep these book right next to your C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Token and the J.K.K Rawlings collections for many years of splendid quality reading (if you like such dark and unfortunate features in a book...but don't tell me I didn't warn you!). The Whole Wreck comes complete with 13 episodes, which are quick reading and are hard bound with a case to keep it all together. It is a must buy, if reading about children's unfortunate life experiences and how they overcome the most difficult odds, is something that you like to delve into.

First of all I would like to say that I absolutely LOVE Lemony Snicket
First of all I would like to say that I absolutely LOVE Lemony Snicket, especially "A Series of Unfortunate Events", I mean why else would I buy The Complete Wreck with ALL thirteen books included?! (Just kidding, kind of). The truth is I have loved the Lemony Snicket books since I was a child, and I purchased this box set as an early birthday present for my nephew (he is only three years old, but I'm such a proud uncle that I can't WAIT for him to learn how to read). Well enough fangirling (not sure what the male term for being a "fangirl" is) the reason I only gave 4 stars was because in 2006 when "The End" came out and this box set was released, I was expecting a poster inside of the cast of "The Marvelous Marriage" (from "The Bad Beginning" - book the first) it has been advertised that this poster would be included in the box set, however when the box was opened, no poster was inside :( kind of a let down, as the poster was more for my nephew than for me. (Trust me, as a TRUE Snicket fan, I have seen this poster countless times, on many different websites, but including the poster from "The Marvelous Marriage" would have been the icing on the cake for a PERFECT box set) i hope that somehow, someday I can get this poster in my grasps, and laminate it perfectly for my baby nephew. However; since I've read all the books myself (more than once) I can't wait for my nephew to dive into these books, maybe ask me questions about the plot?! Or just try to figure it out for himself?! Or MAYBE... (Just maybe?!) he will try to get in contact with Mr. Lemony Snicket?? (Hmmmm... One can dream). ALL THAT MATTERS; is that I can't WAIT to see what he gets out of these books at such a young age, and when he finishes reading, it'll be time to introduce him to "All The Wrong Questions" :) :) :) yes, I am literally THAT obsessed! Thank you for taking the time to read my review! With All Due Respect,Dalton Tannehill

A series of unforgettable tales
My oldest daughter was a huge fan of Lemony Snicket and it took a long time for me to pay enough atttention to see how fun these books are. They are wonderfully written with a dry wit and self depracating charm that makes you laugh at the ordinary and believe the extraordinary. The characters are a combination of believable but just off the norm enough that it's as though you're looking through a window into a world that's not earth but close to it...like another dreary dimension. I read that there is going to be a new television series based on these books out soon so the first thing I thought of doing was sending my daughters books to her in college. Fun for everyone, creepy for the Dad's that like that and overall a great story that should be wholly inappropriate for children but it's told in a way that it doesn't seem so. Death, deception, intrigue, mystery and a bit of humor...awesome way to invest your time.
