I'm not sure, yet I believe I read that it is able to.

Is this capable of skipping around to various places on the dvd? I have a work out dvd that I need to return to starting point.

If you want to watch dvds on a bigger screen, can this portable player be hooked up to a flatscreen TV monitor and used that way?

I have not done so, but w/ the USB port, I presume it can be attached to a TV just as a non-portable does. I'm not tech-savvy but that's how I see it.
