Derwent Pastel Pencils, Skintone, 4mm Core, Metal Tin, 12 Count (2300563)

You can never have too many pencils, regular or pastel chalk! I had previously purchased the Derwent Pastel Pencils set of 32. I thought these pencils would likely round out my colors, and be easy to pick up and take with me when I go to Portrait Class. They did not disappoint me. While I already had some of the colors, I did not have them all. I do alot of pastels, so I'm very happy with my purchase.

Derwent are very nice easy to blend and vibrant

I thought I was getting a palette of skin tones, but this contains all colors - red, blues, greens, as well as a few tones that could be used for darker skin tones. I've been able to make it work so far with the darker-skinned portrait subjects I've been working on, but not sure how it would translate for paler skin.

These pencils are nice to work with and the colors layer well. The Portrait color set is diverse enough to work with other subjects also. Nice for beginners and professionals alike. I would recommend this General's brand to anyone who is looking for nice soft pastel pencils.

Decided to get these after buying some oversize colored pencils at Barnes and Noble (are you allowed to say that on Amazon!)...they were awful! The Derwent didn't disappoint, actually worked like soft pastels. The only proviso I have is don't get both the skintone and regular, they're just about the same! I recommend getting the regular, they're cheaper. Once again, they are gr-r-r-e-ate!

Tin was a bit dented when it arrived and four of the pencils were broken at the tip. When I sharpened them to use them I had to grind them down almost two thirds before there was unbroken pastel to use.

I like to have a wider variety of color choices when doing portraits, and this is an excellent set.

J’apprends le pastel et ces crayons spéciaux pour les portraits sont un bon atout. Les mines sont tendres ,les couleurs adaptées. Je recommande ce produit et cette marque.

Er is niets mis met de softpastels van Derwent, maar door bezorging zijn alle punten, dus ook de binnenkant gebroken! Nu om de 5 minuten de punten slijpen, die vervolgens weer snel afbreken.Geen potloden online bestellen, maar gewoon in de speciaalszaak. Nu weer gedoe om te retourneren.
