I bought this knowing and thought maybe quality goes with money, I bough a 50 cent which did better
I bought this used it, the blade that pierces the lid dulled super fast. basically a waste of money and a waste of time. Went to a local shop and out of random found a old school can opener that is literally two sticks wielded together and a piece of sharp metal that pierces and cuts the lid as the single gear moves. That single old school blade did everything better than the circular blade this thing has as well as what most can openers have. The metal used in this product could have been a low quality metal which explains the speed at which it dulled or it could be the craftsmanship since the parts become undone and need tightening every once in a while after a couple uses.

Okay for the price
The can opener lasted almost a year until the turning mechanism gave out. For the price it is food, but do not expect it to last forever. After a while the turning knob started to give out and would slip, causing the gears to not turn. However I would say I used this item a lot during the week.

Beautiful, solid manual can opener, but it doesn't open cans!
I rarely write product reviews, and certainly not negative reviews, but this manual can opener, which is solidly built and looks lovely on the kitchen counter or in the gadget drawer, has just one problem. It completely fails to open cans! The cutting apparatus fails to bite on the can lid, and it would actually be easier to open the can with a screwdriver. With the first can that I tried, my thought was "it must be the can". But alas, after repeated failed attempts to open many cans since then, all with the same sorry outcome, it is clearly the can opener design which is at fault. How hard is it to design a functioning can opener? Apparently pretty hard, to judge by this product. I would return mine for a full refund since I only bought it a few weeks ago, but I discarded the packaging on arrival, thinking "What can possibly go wrong with a manual can opener? Silly me.By the way, Amazon, please do your job and police the product reviews for relevance. Most of the posted reviews for this can opener are in fact for an electric coffee grinder, or humidifier, or heaven only knows what (I didn't have the patience to read all 3000+ reviews).Save your money, and look elsewhere if you think this can opener is actually going to open your cans.

Terrible quality
I should have followed my gut and never bought this. I was looking for a fully stainless steel can opener and you don't get it with this product. These are not even stainless steel. Maybe the handle and that's it. The black strips for grip are made out of sort rubber, plastic, and anything can get trapped there. Same thing at the bottom of the handles. Cracks all over the place where once something gets in, it will never come out. I was looking for something made out of metal but this is the worst can opener I ever saw in my entire life, the worst quality ever. Absolutely unhygienic. Other than that, it opens the cans...I saw this same can opener for half price here at Amazon. I feel super stupid by having bought it at this price, I'm sure it's the same exact can opener. Then what is this? People reviewing different products unde the same rate. I hate when amazon allows that. Also a deceptive seller practice. "Since I have good rates lets change the product and keep the same old good rates for my last products." What a scam. I'll be probably sending this back. I'll see after a wash.So I'm just adding an extra picture. This can opener rusted after the first wash...

NOT GOOD
It's a very well made and nice looking product. It worked okay to start, but now it's a pain, literally. It is difficult to get it to do it's job. It is extremely difficult to crank, it gets stuck and won't turn. It shreds the paper wrapper of the can and makes a little mess. I hate it. I feel like I wasted my money. I need to buy a different one or cuss this one every time I use it. Bah!

Broke already
Let me be frank - me and can openers are not friends. I have yet to find a can opener that does not breakThis is my third can opener in three years - do they just truly not make em like they used to anymore?I had this can opener for maybe a month. MAYBE. A. MONTH.The first couple times I used it, I was ecstatic. I thought I had finally found the one. It was smooth and easy to turn and it worked well. And then it started kinking and I thought “oh no. It’s happening again” I ignored it. I ignored the red flags. It started getting harder and harder to turn every time I used it until I quite literally had to PUNCH HOLES in the tops of cans as I opened and closed the can opener. And then it happened. The turner thing just straight snapped off. It popped off like it had somewhere to be and it was late getting there. It won’t go back on and now I am, yet again, can opener-less.Tonight my husband had to open our tomatoes with green chiles with a knife (luckily he still has all his fingers)

lasted about a year
It's an alright can opener. Worked very well at first. One year in, the two gears have trouble grabbing one another.

Will only buy metal can openers, but this one
The cut wheel went out of alignment by the third use. I fixed it, but have ended up using my old one because the cut blade and wheel keep going out of alignment. Looks handsome but wouldn't buy again.
