Fits RPWFE if fridge does not have an RFID chip
Through a recent service appointment on my GE fridge I learned that my fridge that says it requires the ROWFE filter DOES not have the RFID chip so the reset is just on the Water button. Therefore this filter fits and functions as the more expensive RPWFE saving me money. Please note this only works if your fridge Does Not have RFID chip reader. Clever marketing tool by GE to make you think you need the more expensive filter. You may need to remove the cover plate in your fridge to confirm. My fridge had a label behind the reader that clearly said this unit does not utilize the RFID reader.

No the make and model of your refrigerator
I cannot believe this filter works so well. I went to the store where I bought the refrigerator and they wanted $65 for the water filter how can you beat this one for $16 best value great product will buy one every six months to replace the one in my fridge.

Great expectations
Unfortunately the Excelpure filter did not work with my GE PYE22KSKSS refrigerator. When I installed it, there was an initial gust of water when the filter was installed. When I tried to fill a glass, I got an error code indicating the dispenser was disabled. When I removed the filter, I discovered it was leaking. Needless to say I returned the filter.

Not perfect but value is there
Not perfect but the value it is tough to beat. Have occasions where it will spurt some air out but not enough to make it a huge deal.

Does the job, for less!
This filter is exactly what is needed to replace the over priced factory filter. The value for money outweighs the effort it took to cut the RFID chip off GE bypass filter and tape inside the filter compartment. Now I can just use these filters at 1/3 the cost. The flavor of the water and ice is flavorless, orderless, and colorless, as good clean water is supposed to be.

Works great--no leaks
Thanks for providing a lower-priced filter for this refrigerator. As mentioned by buyers of other non-GE filters, when you take out the used GE filter, simply remove the RFID chip from the GE filter, tape it to this non-GE filter in the same location, and this filter works fine. Note--the "replace filter" light will remain lit, but just calendar a reminder for 6 months and replace it then. This item also includes a sticker you can put onto the filter/filter housing as a reminder to change.
