Works for cold brew coffee and GREAT FOR HOLDING HOPS WHEN BREWING BEER.
I originally bough these to shorten straining time and easier clean up when making cold brew coffee which they do a good job of that. A side effect is they do make it so I have to double my steeping time from my normal 12hr to 24hr which for me is a huge plus, I can start a batch after work and the next day after work its done when I have the time to deal with it instead trying to getting up early to deal with it before work.Recently I was struggling to find a way of filtering hops out of my beer after cooking and before fermenting I tried a few things that either only kind of worked or were to expensive.I saw this bags in the back of my cupboard (since I only do cold brew in the summer) and though lets give them a shot.THEY WORK GREAT!! they keep the pellet hop matter contained great but lets the flavors and oils through. I'm usually brewing 2.5 gal batches and putting in 0.5 to 0.75 oz in each and there is plenty of room in each bag after they swell up for that and for the price per bag I'm not stuck trying to clean them.

No fuss no mess!
I'm new to the whole cold brew thing, I was tempted to buy one of those fancy dedicated cold brew setup but this seemed a better way to start. I have a half gallon container for brewing and I use 8 scoops of coffee. The first time I used these filter bags I put all 8 scoops in one bag, it fit but the coffee was a little weak. Since then I've been using 2 bags with 4 scoops in each and it works great. I've been using a standard grind and get very little sediment in the brew and what I get is only in the bottom. Overall I'm very happy with these filter bags, they work great and there is nothing to clean up after brewing.

Works as designed! But...is the bag supposed to float?
Seems to work really well! My one confusion, which may be because I'm a novice at brewing, is that the bag itself seems to float. Therefore, a good portion of the beans do not seem to be soaking. Is this normal? My solution has been to put the bag into a container with a lid and then fill to the lid, but this doesn't seem to be the 'correct' brewing method. However, once I do that, the coffee is great.

wonderful mess and time saver
I make 1/2 gallon of cold brew at a time. I use two bags with 3/4 cup of course ground coffee for each 1/2 jar. These worked out perfectly and made cleaning up significantly easier than pouring the brew through a cone filter.

Great product. Make sure you have a funnel to fill bags.
I thought I would try these bags for cold brew coffee and I am not disappointed. Just make sure to have a funnel to pour your coffee into the bags. And don't squeeze then to get all the liquid out. I ripped the bag and had coffee grounds everywhere and had to start over. Oooops! But they really work great other than that.

Easy To Use and Works!
I rated flavor high because there is none and easy to clean high because what’s easier then throwing it away? These are my favorite way to make cold brew coffee. I bought a small funnel with a half inch opening at the bottom at Walmart. Makes it easy to pour the grounds into the bag. Tie bag off. Pour water over and wait 22 hours. Great coffee with no grounds that doesn’t bother my stomach. No grounds to clean out of the pot. Hurray.

FANTASTIC!
I got hooked on cold brew when Starbucks started carrying it, love the smooth taste. Took a while to find the right roast for me, but these little bags make life WAY easier vs the brew and filter method I was doing before. I bought a 2Qt pitcher from walmart for $2.98, drop two of these bags filled in, and I'm set in 24 hours.

WORTH IT
I used to work as a barista for caribou coffee. We used jumbo versions of these to make ice coffee in bulk for customers. I’ve never found any in stores like I wanted so I gave these a shot... man am I glad I did!!! It’s so easy and convenient to just scoop some grinds into it and let it set. It’s so nice not to have to worry about DRINKING the grinds
