This is not the gimcrack cheapo that you get at very low prices, but it is fairly and reasonably priced. ( They could reduce the price even further by using less fancy packaging and storage case). Once you screw on the wire for left or right you can start wearing them right away. Tip: Put your own 312 battery in. The batters that come with these hearing aids have too short a handle and are frustrating. Tip two: before you insert the little cylindrical bit into your ear, imagine the orientation of the hearing aid as it will be on your ear, and then tune the rocker volume adjuster way down, three or more clicks toward the rear of the device. Then it won't howl when you put it on. I have a $1500 phonak in my left ear and this much less expensive one in my right, and both are doing about the same. So I would seriously recommend one of these if one of yours goes on the fritz; and if you need both, spring for a pair. You'll get pretty good quality.

One of my expensive Oticon hearing aids got chewed by the dog and it would have cost $500 to repair. I bought a pair of these to see if they would work as well for a LOT less money. Not a chance. The primary, and important difference is that when you buy a profesional set like Oticon (for more money than you care to spend) you get a much more complex, versatile, controllable, and reliable device, which is electronically fitted to your personal hearing profile by a certified professional audiologist while you sit in a soundproof room. Then that profile is recorded on their equipment for future use and modification. That's a critical difference for anyone hard of hearing because a one-size-fits-all device with only limited adjustments like this one doesn't solve the hearing problem. It's like trying to make do with $15 drugstore reading glasses when you're nearsighted, cross-eyed, and have astigmatism. You really need a prescription to solve a medical condition.I suppose these aids might work for someone with minimum hearing loss perhaps due to an injury rather than deterioration caused by age, or perhaps to compensate for some bizzare noise problem in the working environment, or even to listen in on private conversations ?? This same comment applies to all of these low-cost aids, although I also found this particular set to have some minor quality/design problems. So I just put them away in their cute little boxes for emergency use in case the dog manages to get at my good set again.

This hearing device is okay, I got it to replace my hearing aid that I cannot find anywhere. I wish it would amplify just a little bit more. I like the guide wire that holds it in your ear but it causes my ear to itch intensely. I thought it was the rubber diaphragm that goes into the ear but when I remove the guide wire that holds it in, the itching gets a lot better. It's still itchy, because of the material they make the diaphragm from, but not as much. My other hearing aid had clear silicone and this is some type of white, cheaper silicone material. Overall I would say this is a good product if you are just looking for something to boost your hearing. I would really like to get another one to put in my good ear so that I can hear the TV at night better and not have to turn it up.

I read the reviews before I bought this unit. So, I was expecting it to be OK - but I am more than pleased. This is the only unit I have been able to wear when I am singing without clicks - or noises of some sort. That is really really good form my point of view. I don't have to keep taking it out and putting it back in. I do wear glasses but it is so small that it doesn't seem to interfere with my glasses. I do not have profound hearing loss - but I have lost the upper ranges without the aid. This is very small and very comfortable and easy to adjust. I has taken a little bit to get used to the volume settings and the I'm still not sure about battery life, but it appears to be 3-4 days. So thanks for the previous reviews - which is why I decided to leave this review. I don't know how long it will last - but it is very affordable - and I did buy the insurance for it - so we'll see, but I will surely buy another one if things go as they have been going.

After literally going through a dozen pairs of hearing devices and over a thousand dollars I found these hearing devices so close to my $4000.00 pair that I now wear them exclusively. I got tired of paying to have the oticon hearing aids repaired that I sought out an alternative. This was it, volume is excellent controls aren’t difficult and they use a common #312 battery that every store stocks. My previous attempt was to use rechargeable ear buds but they were inadequate and the charge runs down in about 5 hours so you lose volume. I highly recommend these to you without you spending what I spent and the hassle I had with 4 different brands. These far exceed the last hearing aid I replace with a cost of more than a thousand dollars. I don’t like the phrase good value for the money something is either good or it isn’t and these are much better than good and perform well.

Tested these out while watching TV. They amplified all the noise from the street, but seemed to actually muffle the sound from the TV. I returned them.

This hearing aid came in handy when one of my hearing aids stopped working. I've had this hearing aid for about a year and it still works efficiently. It took awhile to configure the settings similar to my old one eventually I was able to choose the proper settings.
