Ben Hur (Animated)

This movie is incredibly frustrating if you know anything about Ben Hur or the crucifixion narrative. For the sake of time many important people and events are cut which makes for an incoherent story that is not engaging or entertaining. It might be excusable for time if it followed the original plot, the viewer could fill in the blanks, but it deviates in Ben Hur's motives for racing Messalla, and misses the whole point of the crucifixion and other important events in Ben Hur's life. This movie was a complete waste of time.

It is entertaining. It is an older style of animation. For anyone who is not familiar with biblical scriptures, this story may be mistaken for being based on biblical events. It can be difficult even for children to separate fact from fiction as biblical events are interwoven with fiction. My suggestion is to watch with caution and know the scripture so the movie will not feel misleading. Overall we enjoyed the movie and the message that it sends.

I am a huge fan of the BEN HUR epic with Charlton Heston and this animated version for children also features him as Judah. I thought they did a great job showing the message of Christ and the messages of kindness and forgiveness.My daughter loved the movie. I would suggest it for kids 5 or 6+

I mistakenly purchased this streaming video, thinking it was the new live cinematic release of Ben Hur. I am not a big fan of animation.

The latest film version of BEN HUR is an animated retelling that emphasizes the novel's original subtitle: A Tale of the Christ.Charlton Heston reprises his Oscar© winning 1959 film role as the voice of Ben (and also narrator).Sadly, the animation is second rate and nowhere near the quality of "Prince of Egypt." The voice work is not particularly imaginative with the exception of Heston who is more emotional and worldly wise than the blandly drawn young hero. Still, there's an admirable bravery to the provocative enterprise; after all, it's about a Jew on the road to revenge who stumbles across a forgiving Christ. How radical is that?Limited extras include brief statements from a somewhat haunted looking Heston who, oddly, speaks almost without emotion or expression.

Love this animated version to teach my son the morals of this amazing classic! He loves it, too!:)

I won't review the film because everyone will be familiar with this all time classic. People will want to know about the quality of the Blu-ray disc. It is every bit as good as one could hope for or expect. Both sound and vision are excellent. No one should be disappointed in this worthy addition to their film collection.

Well, its Ben Hur, isn't it? Brilliant film, brilliant actor! Charlton Heston at his best! Those tearful eyes, full of emotion, when he sees his mother and sister, and finds them in the leper colony! Who , could not be moved! No wonder it won so many oscars!

Kids loved it.

This copy of such an epic film is first class , both sound and vision is excellent , you would have though it was only made yesterday , if only all restorations on bluray were as good as this one , there would be no problems .

What a great film this is with great performances from all the cast the acting is world class,fantastic on blu ray
