I don't know about anyone else but I've had bad experiences with fans. You can't feel any air if you hold your hand up in front of them, even on high. Swivelling fans that start swivelling if you even look at them wrong when you just want the stupid things to push air where you want. I bought the next larger version of this fan for my bedroom and love love loved it. So I got this one for a smaller version and it's a beautiful fan as well. The air goes where you want it to and it's a such a sturdy little thing (and no stupid swivel).Attaching the base is surprisingly tricky. You MUST insert the base between the small metal washer and the large rubber one or it will start to slowly, sadly tilt down (something that drove me crazy with the larger version until I, duh, read the instructions). That metal washer is TINY and I thought the instructions were maybe for the wrong version cause I couldn't even see it. But it's there and I had to unscrew the knobs all the way and use a dental pick to coax the two washers apart.Of course I've read the one star reviews (who doesn't read those first?) and all I can say is it's not my experience. On the lowest setting it's whisper quiet and I can feel air several feet away. On the highest setting, yeah it's kinda loud - I mean it's not a MAGICAL fan - but the sound is all air, no motor noise or anything like that. Show me a fan that blows that much wind and is quiet at the same time. Doesn't exist. And when I need a fan to be on high just give me that sweet wind and I'll take some blowing noise.This was a great pick for a second fan, but honestly for a first room fan I'd go with the next size up. Maybe buy this one if you need it on your desk or you live in a shoe. It's not that this one isn't good, just that I've not found the larger size inconvenient at all in my bedroom. And you get more wind at about the same noise level.I can't comment on durability since I just got it but I've had the larger fan for nearly a year of almost constant use with no problems.

I am a pocky shopper and when it comes to fans I am especially picky.TLDR: setting low is quiet. Setting medium is loud. Setting high is substantially loud.I bought this fan specifically bc others complained it was too loud. What I needed is a fan for sleeping. Something small enough I can take with me on trips and powerful enough to make great background noise.This tiny thing does both and more than I hoped for. The low setting is still powerful enough to use when needing the fan for cooling but stays very quiet. The medium and high settings are best for getting that air MOVING! and if course the glorious white noise. My previous fan was an industrial model and lasted but cost a lot in electricity and after a few months would get squeaky every now and then and I'd have to take it apart and clean it. This fan has come with me through 3 moves and nightly uses and still maintains new quality and functionality.If you need one for a quiet and loud setting that both pack a powerful punch when it comes to cooling and air flow, this is it. Right here.

Good fan. Strong. Doesn't seem to get the "beam" of air like I remember but I used the taller one before so that likely has something to do with it. Otherwise, great fan. Does what I basically need. Looks kinda cool green. Low. Loud but at full tilt it is moving a lot of air so that's a given. Vornado customer for years now... Loveem

I have to sleep with a fan and it has to be loud. I live near a busy highway and ambulance house so I need my fan to drown out all the noise. I have always used the same fan but when I went to order it I discovered they no longer sell it so I thought I would give this a try. I am not kidding when I tell you this is the loudest fan. There are three settings and the medium and low are fine but not loud enough for me. The high level is absolutely perfect. I don't even here my husbands breathing machine right next to me. The fan is also great for moving the air around. I like that it swivels 360 degrees. I have a small bedside table so I have th fan turned so that the "v" shape of the stand is away from my head so I can put my remote and phone on the table as well.Trust me when I tell you if you need a loud fan this is the one.

This fan really moves some air! Bought this fan just over 1 1/2 years ago and it died last week. One would think it should last longer. However, called customer service. Submitted a couple photos and they are honoring their warranty. Sending me a new fan this week and stated the warranty period will start over with the new fan. I don’t know what else one could expect. Most warranties these days are not worth the paper they are written on.

This is an amazing travel fan if you sleep with a box fan. It IS loud but if you want a fan for white noise that will fit in a suit case this is perfect. When we drive somewhere we had a box fan with a travel case but it isn’t sturdy enough to fly with. It does come off of the stand and it did fit into a medium sized suit case. We tried two other small fans before finding this one. They were too quiet but this one is loud and if you need it to move air too it does this effectively as well. To confirm this is a LOUD fan so don’t buy it if you want a quiet fan but it was absolutely amazing for our needs and will make vacations much better for us. It is superior to any white noise app.
