Easy to Use
I have smoked a turkey breast and 4 Pork Shoulders (Boston Butt) and it does a great job. The only downside to this for me was the temperature. It would only get up to 250 degrees max, for what I was doing was perfectly fine. At least one time it would only get to 225 and I had to transfer to oven to finish. I do live in coastal region where there is a constant breeze and this stayed under my carport. If you have a more controlled environment may not be an issue.

Great for the price, it works great for smoking salmon. I don't smoke meat.
I'm used to building my own commercial smokers that always worked to perfection. I'm now in a retirement community so this is fine. All of these small units are really not smokers, they are cookers that give smoke flavors.It's more for kippering fish and the product is excellent. My easy recipe: rub & coat with a mixture of 4 (cups) parts brown sugar , 1/2 c salt set over night rinse and dry. Coat with coarse black pepper before smoking. coat fish and racks with spray oil. Put fish on top rack and smoke at low heat for an hour. then use medium heat until done, about 30 minutes. Higher temps than cook in about an hour.

It does what it's intended to do
There are a few drawbacks; but for a smoker, this is the best product in this price range. The design would be perfect if the manufacturer made 2 modifications.1) the tray for the wood chips should be able to be removed without opening the door and releasing the heat2) there should be some type of drain so liquid from grease and condensation isnt leaking out of every crevice at the bottom (definitely a smoker that should be used over gravel or anything you dont mind staining with liquid smoke)Also, I had to buy self adhesive felt strips to seal the door better and high temperature rubber sealer to seal all the cracks that the smoke was seeping out ofI would give it 3 stars but like I said, its definitely the best electric smoker in this price range (good for a condo)

Smoke pours out the door, but did the job
when I primed it and put in first smoke I was surprised how much smoke pours out through the front door. In fact when the door is closed, you can look down and see through the crack of the door even when locked. I don't like that. The door wasn't quite level so I played with the hinges/screws a bit but smoke still just gets out quite easily. There is not magnetic connection or metal lip to or plastic to provide any seal.I've since smoked chicken and pork. My own thermal pen shows its hotter than the built in thermometer registers. Smoke flavor was good and I didnt have to add wood or water once during the smoke.

Works great needs gasket
So Id like to put some good info out there. Im currently in Denver smoking ribs at 250 degrees in sub 30 temps on low. The latch has been fixed and works fine. The seal on the door is silly though. People complaining about temp need to add a lavalock gasket. I put it on the door. It cost $15. Im holding heat and smoke strong in freezing temps on low. Buy the gasket and you will be fine.

Maybe a full year of it working properly.
It just so happened that this arrived on our wedding day..... The luck! I ask him if he is excited..... "Well yes! I can even smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving!" We've now legally been married a little more that 24 hours and I will always be competing with this smoker.As of now it is working just fine. It was easy to assemble. He has already made jerkey and was quite happy with the progress.There is a Low Med and High setting, but we cannot find the base temps for each setting. Currently it's 38° F here and the temp has maintained 220° F in and open area on our back porch.I will update the review as time goes on.Edit: it's been almost a year. We bought it Oct.28 2019. Two months ago it stopped holding proper temp. Now it won't go above 225°. I would say we got about two dozen uses out of it before it's decline. I guess you get what you pay for. All in all, I wish we would have sprung for a better one.

best electric smoker I have ever owned
best electric smoker I have ever owned. Holds temp well and nice to have window instead of opening door to check. Size is perfect for a small patio and has never tripped my GFI's as others have.Only missing item is a good smokers cookbook. Most of the other smokers came with one. This has no reference guide so your on your own to figure temp and time. I did not drop a star from 5 to 4 over that,but a novice might be upset that there there s no guide to help. So a novice should beware that there is NO cookbook or guide with this unit, so your on your own to play or spend 20 bucks and have to buy one.
