Brilliant lens, top-of-the-line telephoto capabilities in good light...
Delivered in 48 hours (quite pleasantly surprised, in time for Diwali). It’s been 2 days and I haven’t done serious wildlife or any fast-event photography yet (the main purpose of my purchase) - so a very preliminary view. I use a Sony A7iii and have been shooting with native Sony/GM lenses only (24-105/f4, 85/f.18 and 70-300).Pros:1. In reasonable light, this lens is just brilliant, in fact among the very top-of-line lenses. Sweet spot is between f8-f11, the lens really brings the pictures ‘alive’.2. Focus, though not the fastest, is quick enough (shot some in dusk - at 600mm, wide open - and didn’t have problem at all)Cons:1. Heavy. Hand-held (which i do) may be impossible for long shooting sessions or when you are in a walkabout. Have ordered a sturdy monopod, just for this.The picture of the flower attached - at 400mm/f8/ss320/ISO200 - was from a physical distance of roughly 200 meters. No post-processing - straight off the camera JPEG! Taken during the early evening hours when the sun was just going down.The real adventure with this lens will perhaps begin only when travel becomes less riskier...for now will shoot birds in the garden :)

Needs a bit of practice before using it for field operations ( safari, bird watching)Read the tutorials of using the focal lengths, modes and button customisation and try out few of them with your camera.Unmatched clarity for long range shots
