Just got this as a birthday present for a 2-yr old who's been obsessing over guitars. It is SO cute, and he loves playing with it. He hasn't been able to put it down! The music choices are adorable, even the songs with someone singing, it's not annoying at all, super cute. The strings do make sounds when you strum, but it not as continuous or reactive as real strings. But given how many songs and variations there are in it, it totally makes up for real strummable strings. There's a nice volume control button at the bottom and a stop button at the nose. Wonderful gift and great toy for little musicians. HIGHLY recommended!

The Woofer Guitar is great! It has so many different options for learning and playing music. It has several modes that are fun and interesting (e.g., you can change the vocal mode to be a dog woofing the words). I was initially concerned about safety because of reviews indicating that the strap can get wrapped around a child's neck, but the strap is connected at both ends by velcro, so is easily removed. Unlike other noisy toys, this one is easily deactivated by simply pushing the nose (and it has auto shut down after 2 minutes). It comes with a song book containing all of the words to the many songs that are preprogrammed (e.g., there is a "puppy" button that plays 9 songs just about puppies), as well as an option that allows kids to strum along to many classic folk songs. It also has chords, so all of the music isn't preprogrammed -- even children at a young age can learn musical constructs with this toy.

Bought this for my 13 mo son who LOVES music and LOVES dogs! He gets such a kick out of the woof sounds and absolutely loves the doggie songs! This toy has great volume control, excellent sound, and lots of varieties of play. He can listen to cute dog- themed songs, play the woof sounds, strum along, lots to do! Very well made toy- and cute as can be. Would recommend this to anyone as a unique toy that will be saved with the special toys in his/her life!

When I purchased, these were on back order. When I received it, It was very cheaply made. The battery compartment, was poorly assembled I could hardly get the batteries in connected to the contacts for the microphone to work. Once I was able to get the batteries working in the microphone, The volume of the microphone was so incredibly low. I could barely hear anything out of the speaker. The cap for the battery compartment was not on the threads properly when I received it and continued to be an issue when trying to get the batteries in. This was returned for money back. There are other microphones out there that would be of better quality.

I bought this for my grandsons 10 years ago. They loved it and it became their favorite toy. I was happy to see that the company still makes it, and it is the SAME GREAT QUALITY as the original. In fact, it's still the OG - They didn't change a thing, and why should they? You can't improve perfection. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We used to have this toy and got one again when it stopped working. It's great, except for the strap. The ine we first had, had a long shoulder strap. This ine had a little dinky strap that you can't even use, which was disappointing for my 4 year. Other than that it's a fun gift

I was on the hunt for the a toy guitar that had actual strings, as that's what my son loves about his dad's guitars. This has them so it was perfect. They don't play the notes, but it's okay. It sounds nice and he loves that he gets music from strumming them. The guitar is a little awkward shaped, given the design/theme of it, and my son didn't recognize it immediately as being a guitar lol. But he loves it. So does my daughter. It's not annoying to us but if you don't like noisy toys -- pick something else. It does have a volume control, as well as a complete "stop" button on the nose, which was a nice surprise. It has a full scale that seems to play the proper notes but I haven't really experimented enough with it. Another thing I really loved to find was the small booklet it came with that has basic lessons for how to play songs using the scale.It has a variety of buttons and sounds and it's so colorful. We love it. You will too.
