Good Coffee, Great Value
I've been purchasing a whole bean, dark roast from Kroger for the last 9 years, every once in a while switching to something different but always coming back to my main pick. Kroger however, has been negligent in stocking whole bean coffee, at a decent price in their stores consistently. I look for a nice oily bean, a good fresh coffee aroma and strong flavor. I've tried Kroger's own Premium, Private Selection brand, and got old stale coffee with lots of broken beans. I also did Sam's Club Makers Mark coffee with the same complaint, not oily, didn't taste or smell fresh. So I tried San Francisco Bay Coffee, whole bean, French Roast. It is Really good coffee. Maybe not the best I've ever had, (I've had some Costa Rican coffee while visiting Costa Rica that was to die for) but right up there, and the price is great giving it good value for the money. FYI: I use a French Press and store the coffee beans in a lidded glass jar.

Nice whole bean coffee!
I tried it, I like it!I’ve been drinking coffee from another coffee roaster company for a couple of years. They recently they went up 25% on their coffee, so I began looking for a different roaster who offers a good bean for the price. This is a slightly darker than a medium roast I would say, but certainly not a dark roast. Gives a wonderful robust flavor and aroma. It’s definitely coffee with a good character that doesn’t blend into the cup in the taste department. Has a great character and certainly it’s own flavor profile. I am a big fan of South American and African coffees, this blend really has notes of those coffees. Has a very pleasing acidity level and was very fresh.I’ve been enjoying this coffee quite a bit. I grind it with the burr grinder and brew it in a French press. Can’t go wrong with that.Edited to add: After ordering this 2 times, this is now my favorite morning and daily coffee. The flavor of this actually is better than the other coffee roaster's single origin coffees. I am now a fan!

Bay Bridge Decaf is the Best Decaf I have ever had
I have purchased several blends from San Francisco Bay coffee company, so I will leave a brief blurb for each one. Overall, the company produces good whole bean coffee for the value. It smells and tastes fresh.Decaf Gourmet Blend: Very basic decaf coffee. It is only fine. It definitely has that rather flat, decaf taste. It was better than most decaf coffees from the grocery store, but still not something I really wanted to drink.Bay Bridge Blend: This coffee is supposed to be a medium roast, but in my opinion it is a pretty dark medium roast. It has good flavor that is bright and not too acidic. Still it is darker than I preferDecaf Bay Bridge Blend: Incredible! When I received my first bag of this decaf, which I decided to try since I didn't like the Gourmet variety, I was worried that someone had incorrectly labeled a bag of caffeinated beans because they smelled so delicious when I just cut the bag open. This decaf is far and away the closest I have tasted to regular. It has lots of character and flavor. I highly recommend San Francisco Bay Coffee just for this particular decaf blend, which absolutely deserves 5 stars!

Best Value Decaf – Smooth, Rich & Budget-Friendly!
This has been my go-to decaf coffee for the past six months, and for the price, it’s an incredible value—especially when combined with Amazon’s Subscribe & Save. I portion out individual doses, store them in the freezer, and it lasts me nearly two months while delivering a consistently smooth and flavorful latte every morning. If you’re used to premium brands like Onyx, give this a try—you might be pleasantly surprised!

Best beans for your money
This is my favorite coffee. The beans grind nicely to release the richest smell that wakes me up every morning. The dark roast has a nice, smooth taste that blends well in any type of drink I have made so far.

Smooth, delicious and highly recommend
I just had my first cup this morning, I grind my coffee for my percolator using the same same amount I do for all my coffee beans ( 5 tablespoons for 8 cups) and the coffee flavor was smooth, delicious and zero acidity. Highly recommend

Not Bad if Price Conscious, Far From Great
This purchase was motivated by price with expectations tempered by reviews. The good: well within the best-by date; not stale; no crazy off flavors. The not-so-good: over-roasted, I'd call this an oil slick roast; seriously lacking in depth of flavor. This a flat coffee, like no dimension, a kind of burnt flavor is the total flavor. Weird. I do find it drinkable, because I really like french roast, and I prefer a burnt roast to a light roast (call me a heathen, I can take it). My preference is for a textured, lightly acidic, dark roast. That's not this. If I didn't need to watch pennies I'd be disappointed, but for 50 cents an ounce and a dark roast that isn't stale or impossibly bitter I'm grateful.A lot of reviews mention the clear bag. Yeah, not a great idea, OTH, lotta brands out there sell bags with 25% bean chips (Amzn happy belly, you know who you are), maybe it makes sense? Anyway, I wash and save old coffee bags for situations like this, so I just transfered it to another bag.

This is really good decaf!
Great decaf! The aroma and flavor is really good for a decaf. I make it pour-over style and really like it. I have bought SF Bay French Roast caffeinated coffee pods and they are the best. A big plus is that they are compostable. I won't buy any other kind.
