Morning smoothies are good, but on cold mornings, you want warm soup.I use this tomato powder to make cup soups. Just put this in a cup with freeze-dried onion and consomme powder, pour in hot water and microwave for a few minutes with your favorite vegetables, celery or carrots, and your soup is ready to serve.Of course, you may prefer to use canned tomatoes or fresh tomatoes, but those can't compete with the ease of this tomato powder.The tomato powder is made from only seasonal tomatoes, you can immediately enjoy the original flavor of tomatos without worrying about additives.I purchased 8 oz. which may seem like a small amount, but the tomatoes are so concentrated that even a small amount was enough.It can be used not only for soups, but also as a substitute for ketchup when you are worried about the sugar content of ketchup, to add richness to tomato sauce, or to knead into bread dough, etc. It can be used in many ways with the ease that only powder can provide.

Good stuff! I made non-sodium tomato sauce with it and then put it in goulash. It’s great when added to foods also. It is also not bitter.

This product adds depth of flavor to soups and stews. Yes, it can "clump" in the package, but it is easily broken back into powder, and it dissolves beautifully. Love this product!

I ordered two 8 oz bags of tomato powder. Well, both the labels were identical. But one bag was smaller and one bag was bigger. Still, the weights were the same. The problem is that the Tomato powder in the smaller bag was obviously of much poorer quality. It was all hard as a rock and clumped together. It was a darker color and a coarser grind than the big bag. Oddly enough, the smaller bag had an expiration date one month beyond the bigger bag. But I wouldn't use the contents of that smaller bag for anything-- it was that obviously bad. You can see it in the photo, to an extent. I tried to break up the thick chunk of matted tomato powder in the smaller bag with a hammer, so it's quality could be seen in the photo. But the photo doesn't do the difference justice. Couldn't even find any contact information to make the situation right.Update:Well, I wrote this review and the company ended up responding to my review and offering a very satisfactory solution to the problem. I would venture to buy from them again, after all. Rating change to five stars because any company can accidentally let a bad product slip through, but not all companies have great customer service like this one.

Fresh and added the perfect extra tomato flavor to salad dressing

I haven't tried this yet. I was disappointed, however, that the powder was as hard as a rock. I had to use a hammer to beat it back to a powder. Some if it remained hard still. It's hard to measure with so much of it is in chunks.

This is a convenient addition to cupboard staples. It’s good quality and shelf stable.
