XCM X8 Unlock Tool Set for Xbox 360 Slim

Worked great on my xbox, easy to use, good quality and arrived on time.

extremely happy I purchased this. I feel there is no way to take the case off the 360 slims without breaking it with out this set. the instructions are non existent, but you can easily find instruction if you Google it. the only complaint I have is that the tools could have been labeled a little bit better. instead of just a, b, c etc... I would have also labeled where they will be used, for example tool " A " also labeled with BR standing for bottom right and so on and so forth. since it takes 5 tools all inserted just to remove the faceplate. Also on extra tool I would consider making would be one to open the locking tab that locks in the delicate ribbon cable. also there is a small tool that looks like a mini ice pick, I would have put that one in somesort of protective holster of some sort for clumsy people like me so we don't injure ourselves. I just make a sleeve for it by cutting a drinking straw from Mc donalds to cover that and it worked like a charm. all in all a must have for case modders or those who want to replace their cases. I only knocked one star off for lack of instructions but I would easily give it 4.5 stars. good luck finding an easier set of tools than this. I would definitely and highly recommend this set. made by cm and anyone who has modded before knows cm is quality stuff. happy modding everyone.

I want to update this review based upon additional use. Biggest criticism was that I didn't find much use for most of the tools while disassembling the 360S model. I picked up a 360E and wanted to make sure it was clean, dust free and cooling well. Didn't find the slim pick very useful on the E but used several of the other tools. In the E it's much more necessary to leave the tools inserted so the back won't relock when working on the other side, so I did use several of the other tools. Still perhaps a few too many pieces, but if this is something you do off and on, then this is a useful kit. I pick up electronic stuff, including occasional problem consoles, at yard sales for peanuts, repair/refurbish those I can, and donate to good causes as a hobby, so I fall in this category. Am upgrading to 5 stars.Initial Review: Delivery very prompt and product as described.Tools strongly made and of adequate quality for the job. Nice chrome finish so won't rust. What I found was the small,slim pick worked best to release the locking clips and was the only unlocking tool I needed. A second tool was used to keep the back clips on one side apart while I worked the other side. If I didn't already have small torx drivers, the small allen wrench type torx wrench would have worked nicely on most of the screws. But something with a handle on it just works better, and I didn't use it. In fairness, mine came apart so easily, I was left with 5 of the 8 tools I woudn't have needed, even if I had no tools of my own. Anyway, you can sure disassemble an Xbox Slim with this set but I took off one star because most people probably have what they need already and multiple tools seemed a bit of overkill. I do a lot of intricate work and the tools have great shapes, so I know the set will have more uses over time.

Packaging could of been better, not the plastic wrap it came in. Tools are easy to use. Over all, 3 stars. Not the best and not the worst.

These tools from XCM are fantastic to use when you can open your 360 slim better than prying it open. When i got my Tools i opened my slim and it made modification much easier . I build custom 360's so this tool is deffinately needed to do the type of work i do . When i liquid cooled my 360 Slim this made it easy to open with out cutting up the case and making a mess . I would recommend using this with Their Replacement case if you want a nice looking 360 . Another thing When you Open the case u will see the canals that allow you to open the case and i just sanded them down so its easy to open next time . Great tool for Any Case mod or DIY MOD

Don't waste your money on this. The kit is completely unnecessary, only needed 2 tools to get the job done and i didn't even get everything i was suppose to.

It looks great and are well made but most of the tools are too thick and useless. Not too pleased because I still ended up just using my screwdriver.

I was able to easily open up my old (dead) xbox 360 and transplant its cosmetically great shell to a functioning xbox 360 that had a somewhat damaged shell. The youtube video helps in identifying which tool is used where. I thought I would have difficulty placing the keys (labelled A to E) used to remove the face plate because of the poor resolution of the guide video, but when I got to that step, the keys weren't that big of a deal. If you have inserted the keys correctly, there are little tabs on the sides of the keys that prevent the keys from going in any further.
