Just the Right Balance of Hold and Ease of Application
I have used the Aveda men's grooming clay for years and recently moved to Highland because of some ads that said it was awesome. Turns out that that I was missing with Aveda was longevity. The Aveda product simply disappeared when I got hot, or it was very humid, or it rained a little. Basically any moisture would make it simply disappear. I wanted something with better hold, and I didn't know until I tried something else. However, the Highland glacial clay is the polar opposite. It is made of wax and it is very sticky. Not only does it stay on your hair, but you have to rub it off your hands with a towel because soap and water have no effect on it. Also, I would pull out my hair when putting it on. Once I put it on my hair, my hair was flat and that was the way it stayed. It was simply too much. I was staring right down on the Goldilocks problem, so I did what everyone does in 2024, I conducted an online search, developed a list of candidates, and read reviews. I was stumped with several products, so I decided to buy the most popular one--Quicksand. This stuff is just right. It goes on pretty easily without pulling my hair out. Like Highland, you have to warm it up in your hands, but this is more clay and less wax. It lasts all day no matter the weather. It does not look slick, shiny, or greasy. Like the name implies, it leaves your hair dry looking. I put it on when my hair is barely damp. It makes my already thin hair a little flat at first. But over the morning, my hair rises to the desired look. Unlike Aveda or Highland, if the wind blows my hair, for example, I can run my hand through my hair without destroying the hold or the look. Sometimes when i first get up in the morning, my hair is like Doc Brown from Back to the Future, but all I have to do is push it back down and I'm good until I shower and start all over again. I don’t know what the "dry shampoo" thing is about, and I almost did not buy it because that was in the title. I would recommend that you give this a shot unless you want the slick or shiny look. See if you agree.

Really like this product
I have longer, thick hair, about 6-7” long on top. This product is thin enough to run through completely dry hair which is awesome (and unlike the Claymation). Leaves the hair with a super dry, almost sandy texture, pretty unique. I wouldn’t say this is a super high hold, I usually hit it with some hairspray, however it is highly reworkable all day. I just run my fingers through to restyle. Gives you more of a messy/beachy style rather than a formal or slicked look, if that’s what you’re after.Definitely like this better than Claymation for long hair. The claymation, you basically have to put it on wet then blow dry for a matte effect, although I’m sure with shorter hair you could apply it dry. This stuff is very easy in longer dry hair in comparison.

Heck Yeah, Hanz
Best hair product. Absolutely no smell, rinses clean, doesn’t look like you’ve slathered in gel, even functions as dry shampoo if hair is oily.

Weird scent
It's great use if you don have time to wash your hair. But the smell is just so strange... Fairly easy to wash.

This is the hair product I've been looking for.
I was a little on the fence about ordering this product due to the mixed reviews and the cost, but I'm very glad I did.The texture of the stuff is smooth, yet has the smallest amount of graininess mixed in. I use a swatch about the size of a nickel and vigorously rub between my palms until it feels warm and the substance has dissipated—it almost feels like nothing is on your hands at that point, but it's there. I then work my hands through my hair—usually dry—and immediately the hair groups together and becomes textured, but still feels dry to the touch, with no shine or greasiness. I'm then able to arrange my hair into the style I prefer, and it simply stays where I put it. A quick rinse of the hands with water and I'm done.Over the course of the day, gravity will of course make the hair settle a bit, but you can simply fluff it up again lightly with your fingers as needed (which isn't often).I have straight, short/medium length hair, on the thicker side for reference. I usually used either Crew Matte Clay or Crew Fiber before finding this stuff. This product is better. Crew would eventually make the hair feel greasy, especially the next day. With Quicksand this doesn't happen, and sometimes my hair actually looks better after a night of sleeping on it!It may not be for everyone, but if you want a decent, medium hold, zero shine, zero greasiness, that lasts all day, you've just found what you're looking for.

Save Your Time & Hard Earned Money - It Ain’t What It Used To Be.
I read so many good things about this product, particularly how good it was with next-day hair and reducing oil to the point where it could actually dry out your hair if you used too much. Upon first use, instead of the super-gritty sand-like consistency I was told to expect, it was super greasy with mild grit. Every time I used it, it made my hair wherever I applied it oily instead of dry and the hold was awful and short-lived no matter how much I used. I have fine, wavy hair and this product made my hair looked like I dunked it in grease every time I used it. Then I read that they changed their ingredients for all their products within the last few years, dramatically cheapening them. Please don’t fall for the same trick I did and pay premium price based on a reputation that is no longer valid.

Very dry wax
Texture is very dry, not a bad thing, not like a puffy, sticky or cream product.Dry wax best way to describe. Little like a wood puddy type texture, or dry clay product.Did not get separation or definition that I hoped for, but held style even after wearing under motorcycle helmet, in Phoenix Arizona during summer heat-118*. Hair was damp after but still looked great and bounced right back into place with this product.I wear a choppy, just woke up, beachy style. Thick hairWas really impressed with its stay put all day styling ability. Most hair products can’t claim that one but this once can for sure. Oh and still washed out Easley just shampoo as normal to remove and removed clean.Still use alone with another product for my go to look
