They aren't extremely thick, but could definitely be worn with shoes. I wouldn't wear them with a new pair of boots though because new boots rub on your heels a bunch and could cause a hole. But otherwise, I would wear mine with a pair of boots.

Are they comfortable with heels?

I would say yes because it’s not too thick or thin. It feels like regular socks. I wore it with closed toe shoes and it was comfortable.
