## ANOTHER UPDATE ##It's been 5 1/2 years and this remains what I use every day. I can't say enough about this thing; super solid.## UPDATE ##After 2 1/2 years, this bag, which I use almost every day on my work commute, hasn't had a single problem. Really holds up. Get it. Get two.## Original review follows ##(After my wife noticed the hand-signed letter that was in the packaging, she insisted I write a review.)What an excellent satchel! The feel, the look, the stitching -- all top notch. It even smells great. When I ordered it, from the photographs I wasn't sure where everything was, so here's a breakdown:OUTSIDE:- Front Flap: No pouches, no zippers, nothing on either side, except for two magnetic buttons on the underside at each corner.- Back Out Side: Zipper pouch, very wide, about 12 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches deep (I measure the satchel about 15 1/4" wide total)- Front Out Side (behind the Front Flap when closed): Zipper pouch, pretty much identical to what's on the back.Thus, when the flap is closed, and the back of the satchel is against your body, no zippers or openings are visible.INSIDE:- Inside, back wall: Another Zipper, same as the two on the outside. (These compartments are great -- perfect size for storing documents, cables, etc). Also a pouch just below the zipper, spanning the entire bag (about 14 1/2 to 15 inches on the inside) and 9 inches deep. In front of that are two smaller pouches, side by side, 5 inches wide by 6 inches deep (each).- Inside, front wall: Another full-width pouch. To the outside of the pouch are some leather straps for pens / pencils.Then you have the main central area, about 15 inches by 4 inches, 12 inches deep. The exterior is leather, interior is a strong canvas. The satchel stands up on its own quite nicely, by the way. It's a beautiful bag.This easily holds my 15 inch Macbook Pro along with a large book or two, along with plenty of room for all your miscellaneous junk in the various zippers and pockets. It's both simple and functional, a real treat to own.

This is 3rd Komal bag. I am obsessed with them. The quality is amazing and I am not afraid to really use them. This messenger bag is my everyday workhorse bag and I do not baby it. Coworkers can’t believe it when they see my real leather bag sitting on the floor. They are really shocked to see me sit it on the ground in the parking lot. If you love the aged look these bags really do look and feel better every day. This messenger bag is big enough to hold my 17” laptop, charger/cord, mouse, pens, glasses, files, flash drives, my planner, keys and wallet with room to spare. I questioned buying this because the description says “men’s” but I am so glad I did. It does not look like a “man’s” bag.

I absolutely love this company and their products continue to astound me. I have been looking for a laptop/cross body messenger bag. I have looked for awhile and purchased another bag as I liked the combo of grey canvas w a leather flap and trim. When it came it was very small, I couldn't fit my laptop and wallet in it together. The leather was thin and had frays around the edge. I was very disappointed. I actually was looking at the Komal duffel bag for a luggage piece when this bag popped up. First, I couldn't believe it was nearly the same price as the one I was returning and so much bigger with all the pockets and compartments. I had actually purchased a large leather purse from Komal about a year ago and love it. I knew the quality of their products, the craftsmanship and the service. The one sacrifice I made, is obviously that it is not two tone. I liked the black/grey and brown material/leather mix because I am very matchy match but I really wanted quality. Upon receiving it today I absolutely never imagined it would be as large and roomy as it is. It fit everything, my laptop, pen/pencil leather role-also Komal- notebook, trade magazines, event items (I am an event manager) phone, wallet and still has room to spare. As usual, the bag was beautifully packaged and has a dust bag. All hardware was wrapped so it didn't damage or get damaged in transit and had care instructions. The leather is true leather and I know from experience how beautifully it ages with wear. This is NOT PCU LEATHER, like a Michael Korrs bag. Everyone that comments about how strange this is and the strange smell, obviously has no idea what true leather is and what plastic or pleather is. Now, this bag does not have a HANDLE. So if you want to be able to carry it like a briefcase or attache case, you can't. It is a true cross body or shoulder bag. The strap is adjustable. If you do purchase this bag, invest in a leather cleaner and moisturizer kit so you can care for your bag and watch it last forever. This is my 3rd Komal purchase. I would have paid 7x the price. Absolutely a high quality and hidden gem of a brand.

Clearly a very durable item. Pockets in the inside are well-padded. Lots of nice details, though in some places, particularly the outside bottom of the bag, the stitching is wonky.My 15.6 inch laptop was a little tight in the bag. I think I have to put it in the main pouch instead of the side pouches that were presumably intended for laptops.The bag looks a little more suitable on the farm than in a law firm. Think 1865 Wells Fargo, not 1965. The seller could have included more imagesthat made that clear.There's also a strong leather odor. Wish the seller could do something about that before it arrives (letting them air out?) rather than suggesting that the buyer just wait 4-6 weeks. In my case, I need to use it in a few days. Waiting that long is pretty inconvenient.But overall, I'm impressed by the evident time and energy that went into making this bag. Would recommend it to anybody who doesn't mind waiting for the leather smell to go away.
